I have compiled a list of useful programs, files, websites, and etc. These are all for random purposes and all of them are free.  If anyone has a suggestion just let me know and I'll be sure to update this for everyone.  They are in no real particular order.

Name: Ubuntu

Description:
Ubuntu is a linux based OS.  Not only is this open source but you can also order a free CD to be shipped to you.  Shipping takes about a month but you can't complain… it's free!

Name: Mozilla FireFox

Description:
Firefox is my personal favorite.  It is a web browser that in my opinion functions and loads much faster than IE and sports better features than Opera.

Opera is another Web Browser with unique features and abilities.

Flash is practically required for any internet user these days.  Websites like YouTube rely heavily on Flash.

Like Flash, ShockWave is another essential these days.  It's not as popular as Flash is but ShockWave tends to be used primarily with 3D projects like games.  MMOs have even sprouted from this.

Adobe Air allows programs and internet applications outside of the browser.

Name: Microsoft Silverlight

Description:
Considering that EE3 is going to use this I'd hope that you have it installed.  Java, like Flash and Air, is a widely used application that many programs use to run.

Description:
OpenOffice is an open source office suite similar to Microsoft Office 2003.  It comes packed with a word processor, spreadsheet, presentation, drawing, and database programs.

Description:
iTunes is one of the best free music players.  It has a massive online store and updates all of your song info.

Name: WinRAR

Name: Adobe Acrobat Reader

Description:
Acrobat is a program designed to read PDF files efficiently and effectively.  Acrobat is also integrated into most web browsers so downloading and saving the file isn't always required.

Name: Google Earth

Google Earth produces a 3D Earth that you can rotate and zoom-in in order to take a closer look at things.  All images are taken from space.

Spybot is a free program to help keep your computer virus clean.  It's constantly updated and is funded only by donations.

Name: Quicktime

Aim is probably the most popular Instant messanger around.  If you want to IM, your best chances lie with AIM.

Name: FrostWire

FrostWire is basically a free LimeWire.  It supports torrents, has a built-in IRC chat, is open source, is compatible with iTunes, and will send you free stickers in the mail!!! (best part)

Description:
Picasa is a simple photo editing tool made by Google.  It lacks features but is very user-friendly.

Name: RealVNC

Description:
RealVNC creates a virtual network connection between the server and your computer.  This is basically Remote Desktop simplified.  It's best used with a large network to gain access to any computer at any time.

Name: Media Manager for PSP

Description:
Sony's easy-to-use media manager for your PSP.  Back-up all your files and add new ones to your PSP with ease.

Name: BitPim

BitPim allows you to extract files like text messages (sms messages) from your phone and back them up on your computer.  It also extracts contacts, ringtones, pics, and more.

Name: CrossLoop

The Gladinet client allows you to upload your files to Cloud hosting services like Microsoft's SkyBox.  Gladinet creates a virtual drive folder on your computer that you can just click and drag files and folders to and it will automatically begin creating all necessary folders and uploading your files to your Cloud host.

Most of these are basic things that should already be on your computer..  But why is Ubuntu up there? Can you imagine people with 3 posts trying to to get that to work? LOL.
