"bug" (RESOLVED)

I'm not really sure if this would classify as a "bug", but this is the most appropriate forum I could find for this. I edited a few values in data.ini (mainly the regen and max values) and now my client no longer works on my server. I turn on the server, and then the client, but the server no longer recognises the connection and cannot do anything to the client (I tried editing global weather via server, which worked for me before, but this time didn't work). My client works, and I can play the game, but it won't work on the server.

Does anyone know what's causing this? And if you do, how can I fix it?

Not sure if you need this info but:

Eclipse Evolution 2.7
Running Windows Vista
Vista Fix Installed

EDIT: And yes, I did restart the server and client after the edit. I tried that multiple times.

its the max values that caused this, try setting them a bit lower.

I reset all edited values to defaults, but I still get the same problem with lack of connection.

if you DONT have any important maps, try deleting them.

sometimes it fucks up in that...

maybe set that back and try again, i cant say i see anything wrong besides that one :S

PS, make sure ports are the same on client and server ofcourse

Didn't work. No clue what's going on with it.

EDIT: In desperation, I'll try restarting my computer.

last thing you could check, is if a server is running in background, with taskmanager.

2 servers could cause trouble, if thats not it, then im sorry, but i have no clue XD

I just realized what caused it. It was idiocy on my part. What happened was I accidently minimized the server, and I didn't know that I clicked minimize, so it vanishing surprised me. I closed the client and opened another server. I was trying to use THAT server to control the client, but it didn't work because the client was still working on my other open server. I restarted my computer, closing the server that was open. Computer turned back on, opened server, and it worked fine because there was no background server.

So you WERE right about the reason being a double-server, I just didn't think to look in the bottom right of my screen.
