Godlord
Finally, installing Ubuntu:1\. Click on the Install icon.2\. Wait for the application to appear.3\. Select the language you want and press 'Forward'.4\. Select a city on either the map or use the combobox and press 'Forward'.5\. Select the keyboard layout you want to use and press 'Forward'.6\. Select Manual and press 'Forward'.7\. Mainly search for the HD you want to install Ubuntu on and select the partition, resize it and get unallocated space. Then add two new partitions.**Info**:Use the size of your RAM for one partition and select 'Swap' as the filesystem.Use the size left for you other partition and select 'Ext3' or 'Ext4' as the filesystem, the mount point should be '/'.8\. Press 'Forward'.9\. Fill in the name like 'Stephan J.R. van Schaik'.10\. Fill in the username in the second box, should be lowercase afaik. (e.g. 'stephan').11\. Fill in the password in the next box.12\. Retype the password in the box below.13\. Fill in a computer name in the next box.14\. Check 'Log in automatically' if you want to log in automatically when you select Ubuntu at the start up at your computer (Like Windows in most cases).15\. Press 'Forward'.16\. Check if everything is OK and 'Press Forward'.**Protip**: the boot setting should always be (hd0), I've hardly ever seen an exception to that.17\. Wait until installation is complete.18\. Press 'Restart now'.@Hippoman:> So turns out I already have it downloaded.> 3 times.> > 2 are zip files, one is a iso…i think. Is the ISO-file called 'ubuntu-9.04-desktop-i386.iso'?Regards, Godlord. Homicidal Monkey
maybe you should just use wubi. Install magiciso or some other cd mounting tool, mount it, open the drive, run wubi.exe. Hit yes to everything that pops up.

Saida
I know it was a poor post, I could re-edit it to sound a little meaner and more information minus the spelling errors.
