Hello, my names Corey but I commonly go by CMFiend420, Her0, or, recently, RomeOnline ].] Anyways, I've been a member here for quite some time now, and I've finally found a game I've loved through and through. Recently I've decided to pick through this thread a little bit, as most of its outdated and I'm going to introduce the new idea's I've thought of and things I'd like to change or perhaps erase entirely. With that being said, I am looking for a team, and if you are interested in being a part, take a look at the designated section.

![](http://imageshack.com/a/img822/8980/2lfc.png)

>! So I've decided to change this section around completely, and actually add some accurate "beef" and actually give you something worth hearing about, so here it is.
>! Chaoscraft was born and bred from a small idea. I was actually playing Runescape, and I just recovered from a bad Maplestory and Terraria addiction, when I realised I wanted different aspects from all three games, into one awesome game. From there I decided this was something I could do myself, and Chaoscraft was born. I've taken idea's from many of these games, and transformed them into my own. I've also taken many idea's from a game I love called Helbreath, another isometric 2D game that was very popular back in its day. With these combined elements I really hope to create a nice and enjoyable enviorment.  Heres a few baselines on what Chaoscraft is going to consist of.
>! **Some Serious Crafting**
By "serious" crafting, I mean serious. Basically how it's going to work is that monsters only drop rare items, or quest items. Other than that, items will be gained mostly from quests but moreover much better equipment can be crafted. I want crafting to be the high point of the game, and it's going to be the highlight. Crafting will be required if you want the best gear, and crafting will offer everything you need and then some.
>! **Monster Pits**
There will be many types of monsters throughout the world, however monsters will be in whats called "Pits". There will be a certain amount of monsters (IE, 50) and they will travel in groups called a pit. You can kill them one by one or group them up and shoot them all down together, its the awesomeness of a pit! Monsters will spawn close together, and move in the same patterns, they are also all aggro, its not far aggro but they will be aggressive. I will make sure you are not swarmed by monsters, and overwhelmed. However, I took this idea from Helbreath and it works out very well. Will take some balancing, but it will be nice.
>! **Elements and Materials**
Monsters will be given certain elements, for example lets say a Stump monster is element "Wood", he will drop logs and other materials that are used in woodcutting, and fletching. This way, people can also kill monsters as well as skill for the items they need to craft.

![](http://imageshack.com/a/img812/2782/g13m.png)

>! I've decided to completely do away with the storyline I orignally created, however I will be posting a new revised storyline shortly.

![](http://imageshack.com/a/img834/8441/gylp.png)

>! ![](http://imageshack.com/a/img6/4231/zlhs.png)
Woodcutting is used to cut different trees to obtain logs, (HURR DURR). Woodcutting usually go hand and hand with Fletching, where you create bows, crossbows, and arrows/bolts. Woodcutting can also be used hand in hand with tinder to create a fire and restore health and mana points when not in combat. Different logs range from "Logs", "Oak", "Maple", "Redwood", "Teak", "Birch", "Yew", and "Mystic".
>! ![](http://imageshack.com/a/img24/8981/fcoi.png)
Cooking is used to cook raw meats obtained from monsters. Cooking can also be used to make drinks that restore mana over time, while cooked meat restores health over time. These foods cannot be used during combat, however, but yield much more health and mana then making a fire. Some cooked foods may also give hourly buffs for various different things. Fishing and cooking go hand-and-hand.
>! ![](http://imageshack.com/a/img198/6774/5k4c.png)
Fishing is used to..well..catch fish. Cooking and fishing go hand-and-hand. Certain fish heal more health, while some may even heal your stamina or mana. Some may even give you buffs that others wont. The catachable fish are "Shrimp", "Anchovies", "Salmon", "Bass", "Trout", "Flounder", "Catfish", "Crab", "Tuna", "Shark", and "Mayora" (special fish to the Chaoscraft world ;D ).
>! ![](http://imageshack.com/a/img59/6270/p0nd.png)
Not only can you add special attributes to your armor and weapons like World of Warcraft, but you can also add up to 5 different sockets to each armor and weapon piece (depending on how high your skill is), Enchanting and Gemcrafting go hand and hand, as you can also enchant the gems that you put into the sockets. Lets take for example a +20 health gem, you can enchant the gem to also add +20 armor or maybe even an additional +20 health.
>! ![](http://imageshack.com/a/img59/6465/xsp1.png)
Gemcrafting allows you to craft gems that can be placed in armor or weapons that either comes with sockets, or was added through enchanting. Gems can also be used to make spells used by all classes more powerful.
>! ![](http://imageshack.com/a/img32/1161/duv5.png)
Leatherworking allows you to skin the monsters that you kill in the world of Chaoscraft and use the leathers to create various things. You can create armor, or certain materials needed in other skills.
>! ![](http://imageshack.com/a/img34/6003/a7yh.png)
Blacksmithing allows you to mine ores and create them into armor and weapons. Blacksmithing is also very useful for other skills such as fletching, where you need to make the arrow or bolt tip in order to create that item.
>! ![](http://imageshack.com/a/img707/6287/pkjb.png)
Fletching is used to make bows, crossbows, arrows, and bolts out of wood, in combination with woodcrafting, weaving, and blacksmithing. Fletchers can also used ore from blacksmithing to make things such as shurikens and throwing knives.
>! ![](http://imageshack.com/a/img809/9840/5310.png)
Scrollcrafters use gems from gemcrafting and special artifacts to create scrolls that give unbelievable buffs for good amounts at a time. EXP scrolls may also be made through scrollcrafting. Some scrolls even reveal skills to classes that you cannot get unless through scrollcrafting.
>! ![](http://imageshack.com/a/img34/2951/8a4x.png)
Weaving is used in combination with woodcutting and leatherworking. Weaving can be made to use baskets to hold extra items in your inventory. Twigs from cutting trees can be woven. This skill is primarily used to hold multiple items in your bag, but only to take up 1 spot.
>! ![](http://imageshack.com/a/img839/6174/o47s.png)
Alchemy is used to gather herbs and create potions with them. These potions give you temporary buffs or restore health, mana, or yield XP to other skills.

>! I will be posting much more on classes later, however for now..
>! ![](http://imageshack.com/a/img560/5323/ifm9.png)
Heroes are your typical melee class. They can tank, or they can do damage. They use "Heavy Armor" and can use 2 handed swords as well as a sword and shield. They can use every single weapon type, but cannot heal. Range: 1-3 Tiles
>! ![](http://imageshack.com/a/img600/3247/s1su.png)
Magi's are your typical mage class. The Magi can go in two different directions, healing or damage. The magi uses "Light Armor" and often uses a staff or wand to cast spells. The Magi class is the only class that can summon beasts to help them upon combat. Range: 1 - 4 Tiles
>! ![](http://imageshack.com/a/img542/8442/fj8n.png)
Archaeus is your final, and typical ranged class. Archaeus' use bows, crossbows, or guns. The special thing about Archaeus' is the fact they can heal as well. Though, they are not anything close to a Magi healer, they can can themselves and others enough to stay alive. Range 1 - 4 Tiles

>! So recently, I've taken the graphics into my own hands. I actually really like the style we have going. The map is not an actual map.

Thanks JC! :)

> Looks very promising, but yea, those graphics do need to be replaced.. :)

Oh, most definitely. They are just place holders at the moment, I'm hoping my ambition and enthusiasm will gain a pixel artist.

Thanks to Fabzy, I've updated the topic with new artwork! He'll be assisting me on this project with the graphics as much as he can. I also have a few friends who will be doing the same whenever they have time. Anyways, great job Fabzy and keep up the good work! The sprite will not be used, he is just a placeholder :P

Triple post now >.> Just wanted to give you a guys an update, pretty cool idea for a tree that Fabzy had, one of many ^^, this tree hangs over the side like such: (Obviously unfinished atm, but you get the idea)

![](http://imageshack.com/a/img546/919/0ahp.png)

I've also finished the new GUI for the main menu, which looks like so:

![](http://imageshack.com/a/img571/8829/6pva.png)

On that note, today is pay day!!! Which means that Andi should be finishing up the base sprite today, and we can get the sprite in game. With that also being said, I should be paying Seth to get him rolling on the ball, and adding the Event System 3.0 and a Quest System into our Project Vertigo engine. Big things, baby, big things! Stay tuned and dont forget to check out or Facebook, Twitter (@Chaos_CraftORPG), and forums, especially for our exclusive contest which ends in a little over a month! Thanks!

Thanks Sealbreaker! Yeah, the hanging tree can't be used TOO much, but TOO much of anything will look repetitive, we'll have many different variations of trees including different colors, so no worries! Besides, with the skills like Woodcutting, we need many different types of tree's, like Oak, Willow, Teak, etc.

> Jesus I love the GUI, and that tree idea!! Why can't Draconi find artists like thisss!!

Hey thanks man, means alot! I designed the GUI but all credits for the tile and tree idea goes to Fabzy. Search on Pixeljoint for artists, some will do revenue share but most just want $$, but most of them are really good!

Thanks Sherwin. The sprite isnt going to stay, the one I have in my signature is for shits and giggles :) I've recruited Seb to the team as a sprite artist, so that Fabzy can remain pixeling tiles while Seb pixels sprites. He should be coming up with a base for us tommorrow. I hired Andy but he has yet to contact me back after several tries :S

What engine are you using? and if you're using E.O (i only assume cause you post the thread under Eclipse Projects) , what is your strategy bout the movement of the player? i mean how can he jump? cause eo can only do the normal movements up, down, left , right, that means if you press up he wont go down unless you press down? or maybe youll just program it to have jump :P
