Banshee
When i try to connect as client to my static IP, an error occurs saying the server may be offline. although i forwarded the port at data.ini (4000) correctly. I filled in my static IP at IPconfig at the client.Does anyone have any idea what could be wrong here?PS: my server IS up and running.Thanks. damian666
if your on the same computer as server, just set the IP on clientside to localhost.you cant connect to your server with your own static IP, unless you have a real good, and expensive router ^^Damian666
Banshee
Oh, so if somebody on an other pc would try the same thing (connect to my static IP), the server will be shown online?

JayT
i dunno maybe if you try the port forwarding thing again (TCP/UDP 4000) and then try using the http://www.touchofdeathforums.com/smf/index.php/topic,43997.0.html to check your server is online

emplay
Did they install the library files? and If the are on vista did they follow the instruction for intstalling them?
Ruins of Hell
@emplay:> Did they install the library files? and If the are on vista did they follow the instruction for intstalling them?Libary files have nothing to do with it… He said his friend COULD open the cilent.Try to re port foward. Make sure you have the EXACT same ip number in data.ini as config.ini...However, also be sure that even though it says offline, it's not really offline. Have him make a new account and see if it appears in the accounts folder or not. First I recommend you get a No-ipp
