Im looking for a program.

Okay i have no clue if this is even around but I really need one.

Basically I want to play my brother in some old school pc game that you have to have a dailup modem in your pc and must call the other pc over a phone line.

But what I need is something to allow me to input a ip and the ip would act as a phone number. this way my pc and his could still hook up without needing all the old equipment.

better example

I open a program it acts as a virtual Modem.

I open my C&C Red alert 1
go to muiltplayer
click join modem game
input brothers virtual modem phone number.
join his game over a lan connection

It has lan so just use Hamachi

Yeah it uses IPX and I don't even think PC's come with that setup anymore. I edited my post maybe that application will help ya.

I FOUND IT :)

or something that might work :)

if on xp

go to network connections and go to your lan connection properties

click install protocol

install nwlink IPX/SPX/NetBIOS thing

that installs the ipx for your network i think. So now i would need to find out how to make that host.

Also ill check them programs out in a sec.

Yeah that is right. Before I forget now but we use to have to install that on both computers and things worked on old old games. I remember we be lost for days till we installed that protocol through the device properties.

Um ill be using it for Lan games Nobody.

And i only messed with hamachi once. So /shrug
