Guest
Hey,So far I've been making my game without any source edits and now that I know how to install VB6 on Vista I was wondering if I could like open my game with VB6 and start editing it? Mellowz
Yes you can. All in-game edits are stored in DAT files, so putting the source files in your game folder will allow you to edit the client and server. Remember to make a back-up. Guest
So should I just open the client/server with VB6?
Lam3r
No, included in the download of eclipse in each folder there is a different VB6 project (extension is .vbp).In the server folder it will be Server.vbp and the client folder it will be Eclipse.vbp*Note: These are two different projects! Ruins of Hell
http://www.touchofdeathforums.com/smf/index.php/topic,53056.0.htmlTry that, it will help you out (in this example I opened the client, you can do the server the same way). Guest
Yeah I know how to open up projects etc, but what should I do with my game that currently has quite a few things in it…Should I copy all the folders into the source folder then open it up with VB6? Ruins of Hell
No, open the project, then read the past step of the tutorial, it teaches you how to make it work in-game.
Admiral Refuge
Copy the "Client/Source" and "Server/Source" folder into your Client and Server folder (so your non-source also has a "Source" folder). Then copy your Server.vbp into your Server folder, and Client.vbp into your Client folder. Then you can freely open the vbp project files with VB6, and you're set.
