I make decks based on theme more than functionality.
I made a Scarecrow deck that… well, it actually worked pretty well, and I also made a Minotaur deck. Gets out a good number of guys of medium strength. Good for mid-early game, the longer the game goes the less likely that one is to win.

Anyone else ever use kithkin? Love those little bastards :P

I've never seen a Kithkin deck.

My favorite is Cleric. Toss in the infinite life combo.

Should also run tutors so you can search the cards out faster.

And instead of Lightning Greaves you can use [Umbral Mantle](http://findmagiccards.com/Cards/SM/Umbral_Mantle.html)

My friends protection/healing deck got up to 84 health and took me down to 7, I was able to come back only because of the number of clerics i had boosting up [Doubtless One](http://findmagiccards.com/Cards/ON/Doubtless_One.html)

That SUCKS! Best bet is to go buy an entire box (roughly $120) or.. if you wanna get real serious into it.. Buy the cards for a good deck, depending on your price range.
If you have a LOT of money.. look up the decks that top 8 recently.. and then build the most common winner, and hopefully you can win some tournaments. and get even better cards.

I dont like doing that though, which can be frustrating.

I KNOW that pre-built deck types are a wise choice, but I dont like using them. Harder for me to enjoy it if it isnt my own making.

I prefer just constant tinkering from scratch to build something that I'M familiar with and caters to my style.

My old blue deck was wicked mean with small flying creatures, counterspells, and taking over summons.

That was a long time ago though, now it seems like every creature has abilities, makes for more interesting games, but its trickier to grasp strategies, least so far.

I was playing my friend with a blue/red deck cobbled together from his overflow cards, he beat me soundly the first couple games, but I was fighting back by the last few.

I love kithkins, but it's hard to make a decent deck for Kithkin Vs. Treefolk with the cards i currently own.. Dx

If you've got some cash(not much needed honestly), and a DCI card you can do FNM.. i'm sure theres more than one place that is sanctioned for it in your area, just gotta try to find one that does Limited Booster Drafts..
