How do you change image of empty item slot

This  is my first question on here so be gentle im a virgin  :embarrassed:

I want to change the empty squares in the inventory from a black square to a graphic I made. I have tried changing the source in visual basic but it seems as soon as the inventory button is hit the icons images are all erased. is there some way to tell it to display my image instead? please help I have spent too long trying to find a work around for this.

Ummm…. first of all. I said I already did that. It isnt the screen its the black boxes the items are put in. Also why would I use paint when I can use photoshop. here is a pic of what Im talking about:

Make the inventory slots transparent.

Make sure you're recompiling the project properly.

making the inventory slots transparent would also make the items in the inventory transparent although I guess I could switch visible on and off when an Item is put in or taken out of the slot. Guess I have a workaround.

You could also copy your image, click on a PictureBox, and then press CTRL + V to paste the image onto it. Do this for each PictureBox in the inventory.
