Okay , so I have just opened up port 8000 for my server on the machine I will be running it on.  What's the next step for people to beable to connect to my server?  I've done this in the past but I'm not very knoldgeable about this .my i p is still a 192.168 number.    I don't know how or if I have to set up my external ip . Please could someone help me . I've read a few tutorials but they are confusing.    Any help is very appreciated.

Well, I though EO 2 was port 7000.
1.)How you you connect to the internet (ADSL,cable.dialup?)
You have to 'open a port' that can be externally accessed.

2.)You already have an external IP, this is what you have to put in the config file for the client you send out.
You can get this from http://www.whatismyip.com/

@Hey880:

> Its still not connecting.  That's what I mean. I tried that and I got rejected of the connection.      And I'm just connected throught the wall.. I'm not sure.

Post the config.ini from the (EO2 FolderLocation)\datafiles Client folder
Are you running the server on the same machine as the client?

@Meteor:

> Did you open the port in your firewall?

You do realize that the first thing you should have told him was that he's using the wrong IP.

@Hey880:

That is an IP for Inside your home network. To get your external IP go to http://ipchicken.com/
that site automatically gives you the external IP that you should be using. External IPs don't start with "192.168"

Also did you set the server options to the same port?
