Maping offline

My question is about if i always have to be connected to the server to create new maps???? because my friends want to helpme with maps but they only can do it when i start the server in my computer….. there are a way to mapping when the server is turning off?????

2\. You need to make a external mapping program and that would just be worthless to make…

-Just get him to download EO himself,
-give him your tilesets in the same order,
-he creates map,
-he uploads it from out of his server files
-you download, rename it to what map number it should be,
-place it in your server files,
-revise the map/add any special attributes you ave coded on your server

and voila!(Honestly never tried this, but in theory it seems pretty sound.)

i tried that!!! my friend sent me the file "map3.map" that he made in his own server, and i put it into my map folder (client/datafiles/maps) but it doesnt appear in my server. i have to do someting in the server files????

did you also put it in your server files? he also has to have the exact same tileset, or you'll get grass where the buildings are supposed to be and weird stuff like that.  Other than that i got no clue, ive never tested this so im not even sure its a viable option

there are 2 map folders, one is on the server side, and one is on the client side.

Its to prevent high traffic to/from the server
