Def Cube - Side-Scrolling RPG

This is going to be my first game that I am going to put lots of effort into, most of them was just for practice anyway.

So the story is that the main character is in some sort of world where cube thingies live in. (Only NPCs and Main Character are cubes, the background and maps aren't really blocky)

One day, the grandmother of the main character dies, but before she died, she told him to search for his family at (still thinking of name) and he sets off to find his family that was "reported dead" a few years ago.

I'm not too sure what I'm going to call the main character, maybe some modified version of the word Cube?
