The retro style has a simplistic and nostalgic appeal. It is easy to produce and easy to edit.
The chibi style has a beautifully unmatched appeal which could easily attract more users. It is obviously harder to produce than the retro style, but it is worth every second you put into it.
If I were you, I'd go for the chibi style. -

For some reason, I keep getting a random runtime error. I Google'd a solution, yet I did not came across the solution. Maybe I could use some… help?

I'm not pretty sure if you're following a particular style, or something similar but, you should focus on working on a more realistic outline.
Mushrooms aren't quite that big, or at least that's what I remember.
The same thing applies to the flowers.
Trees should be more rounded and its roots should be visible.
I do not possess any knowledge of what the black small thing is. Could that be small trees? Doubt it.
The cliffs should have a dark brown color (or a color that resembles the ground).

Yeah, as the person above me mentioned, the shading is something that you should work on. Start by adding more shades. Another recommendation would be an outline(To fit the style your going for). Just saying. But, putting everything else aside, it looks very good.
What is that to the left of his head? That is how he looks on a mini-map or something related?
About the grass… Well, it looks right with the small background and size it has been given, but I'm not sure if it will still look great on a big screen. Personal opinion.
Anyways, it look pretty decent, you just need to give 'em some final touches. -

Wow, those effects are damn pretty. Just wondering, do you think that the particle system is going to take a lot of power from GPU/CPU? Because I have a shitty computer, I mean, netbook.
Basically, my netbook is not so shitty, but when games need Hardware TnL(Shadows and Lights), my pc kind of… you know... runs the game with low FPS. I'd recommend an option to turn the Particle System on or off. -
Looks rather sexy. The video caught me the most. The graphics suit up with the style and game type, but I don't like 'em honestly. Can't wait to give it a try! And the website just gave me an orgasm.

Well, you should play it. You'll have a good yet scary time while doing it. I'd recommend it to anyone who haven't played it and like space/futuristic/horror/survival/third person shooter games. -

I own a PlayStation 3, sir; And Dead Space is an horror survival game, therefore I inserted that text in the bottom to fit in with the game's style. I thought you judged the wallpaper from what you've played, but it's nice to see that you appreciated it, even thought you haven't played Dead Space. Thanks for you opinions!
