@Murdoc: Many of Kusy's critiques are correct, whether he gives them because he's jealous or not I really couldn't care less. The people I remember the most aren't the people that tell me I'm a good artist, but the people that tell me the opposite.

Someone wanted to know how I tile my stuff so I made a tutorial for it, here ya go. I really don't think my way is super special or anything, but hopefully it helps some people.

We are trying to get as much of the editors done as quickly as we can so we can start laying out the world. We realize not showing the engine at the moment might deter some of our fans, but the truth is making previews to show what we already said is done is just a waste of time. For now, graphic previews are going to have to be the main attraction.
About the graphics…
We realize not everyone will be in to the newer graphics. People on ToD are far more fond of pixelated graphics then drawn graphics because it is more unique. I've already said before that the art style of the game will try to stay unique in order to not be called a "Maple Clone." Before we mde the drawn graphics all of our graphics were based on Terraria, yet no one called us out on being a "Terraria Clone." People shouldn't be too worried about the graphics anyway, the more important aspect of the game is gameplay. Plenty of people have made MMO's with the oh so bland RMXP tiles, of course they might get more players if they had custom graphics, but the reason the people play it is because the gameplay is fun and addictive. Our team hopes to prove to everyone that our game will be unique to Maplestory and Wonderking and all the other sidescrollers in not just it's art style, but it's features. Our team is always thinking of new concepts to add in to the game. Of course they have to start out as a concept, just because it's a concept doesn't make it bad, it just means we are varying the pros and cons of whether or not we should be using the specific feature. We aren't trying to be a clone of any game. Now all you haters who want to push us down for trying to improve our game can go back to bashing some other game for being a "WoW Clone."
We started this thread because we wanted positive feedback and constructive criticism from the community. We've already heard your hating on the new graphics and we aren't going to change them back, so move on to the next critique or the topic wil just become locked again. -

We realize our graphics have become drawn like Maplestory and other professional sidescrolling MMO's, but we hope people will decide to take the game's progress more seriously with the newer graphics. I'm drawing all of the tiles and will try to keep my own personal style in all of the graphics so we can stay unique. Also we hope to have unique gameplay that most of the generic sidescrollers do not have.

Engine is finished Robin. Our team is working on the editors now. -
I suggest making a sketchbook on one of the following Art Community forums, they will help you out a ton. DeviantArt isn't that great because people only view the really proffessional work or furries, at the other ones it's usually the professionals helping you out:

Quit being such a damn sad sack, have some confidence damnit. I sucked too, but I like to think that now I've reached the level of adequate, but I didn't get there by saying I'll never get there. Listen to Kusy's advice, once you learn the basics of drawing by drawing on paper with pencil first, then drawing digitally is an easier transition. When you get t the point I suggest a Wacom Intuos4 Tablet. -
Wacom Bamboo tablets are nice, and cheap too, but if you're willing to pay a little more then I'd go with an Intuos4 tablet It has shortcut keys on the sides, a scrolling circle to zoom easier, it lasts much longer than the bamboo tablet, and I just like the overall feel of it instead of the bamboo. The bamboo tablet is small and meant more for hobbyists I believe, the intuos comes in much larger sizes. The Bamboo tablet is around $70-200.00 depending on what kind you want, and the Intuos4 goes from around $250-800.00 also dependsing on what size you get.

That's a very ignorant thing to say. Talent only goes so far, talented people just happen to be slightly better when they try graphics then people who are without talent. But then the rest of the progress someone makes in graphics belongs to practice and seeing their flaws and correcting them.
Also I've found people with talent and realize it grow an ego, when they become egotistical they start to believe they are better then they truly are and stop learning (look up the artist Rob Liefeld and you'll see what I mean by this).
No, this was not a good attempt at graphics, but that does not mean he should stop. It means he should continue to prove you pricks were wrong.
