That happened to my friends who used XP SP3\. They have the same problem as you. My other friends who were using vista could connect to my server normally, so I'm getting the expression that XP SP 3 has a problem with Eclipse.

If you want to get money into your inventory,　try placing some Item attribute tiles on your map, then delete them after you pick up your gold. There will be a pop-up to ask you what item and the amount of it to drop. If you want to be able to transfer gold between players or through a script, I suggest using Godlord's Inventory script, use the search button. EDIT: The link is on the post above.

There's a function in EE 2.7, set an NPC to be fire, and you use a water spell, there should be dmg increase in the case of non-scripted spells, provided you set things up properly.
