Oh and if I am gonna go with smaller maps (standard 30x30 or so), how many would be a decent number? I really want a large world and kindof want like 1000 maps (at least, especially if I'm goin with 30x30 instead of larger).
So if I used EO instead would it be a much smaller file size? And I do kindof wanna go with big maps but now I'm startin to wonder if I should just go with standard 30x30.
I have Eclipse Stable DL-ed on my computer and I'm thinkin about buildin my game. I've got lots of stuff already on paper and have been tryin to get it started. The problem is the file size. I really want a lot of maps, and large maps (I'm hopin to get maps at 500x500 tiles). But with the calculations I'll be pullin off a file size of 15 gigs or more (probably more cause that's just the maps). Is there a way to compress the mmo once it's done or once I've got all the maps generated by the server? I kindof don't wanna promise an awesome game that's gonna take up who knows how many gigs of space. Is there anythin I can do to compress the mmo once I've generated everythin?
