mmkay… I found a few pretty useful programs. The first one is called CrossLoop and can be downloaded from WWW.CrossLoop.COM. This program is a simplified version of Remote Desktop. Remote Desktop is an application you can use to connect to someone else's computer over the internet and basically take control of it. This is typically used by people to access their computers at home or work or by tech support to help you fix a problem. Another way of doing this is by using a VNC. Both remote desktop and VNCs require you to forward ports to use (few know how to do this) whereas CrossLoop does not. How to get/use: 1)go to the website's download page 2)enter your e-mail and check the box (the e-mail is kept private) 3)download and install 4)run program and create account (again, all kept private) 5)to access someone else's computer you will need to have them send you their access code and then they will need to click "connect", giving you two minutes to enter the code and connect to them. once connected you have full control over their computer (your desktop will look like theirs). They can disconnect you whenever they want though. 6)to have some one connect to you, do the opposite. 7)this is mostly used to help people fix their computer problems. the CrossLoop website is filled with techies who are willing to connect to your computer and fix your problems if you'll pay them. But this tool is also good just to access your other computers or those of other people. (and to play pranks) The other program I found is called BitPim. This can be downloaded from WWW.BitPim.COM. This program allows you to connect your phone to your computer (via bluetooth, USB, or infared) and back-up your phone's data. Usually you can take your memory card out of your phone and put it into a reader connected to your computer and copy all of your pics + videos to your computer. But what about your contacts? calls? text messages? Well thats what this program is for. It backs up all of your phone's other stuff that you normally can't. To set up/use: 1)go to the website and select the download for your operating system (windows, mac, linux, etc.) 2)download and install 3)you will need to connect your phone to your computer. You will either need the proper USB cable, or you will need a wireless adapter thats compatible with bluetooth, and then you'll need to configure it or you'll need an infared reader. I recomend that you stick with the USB cable. 4)when you plug your phone in it might give you some options. if it gives you a "phone mode" option then select that, otherwise just hit clear. Your computer will detect your phone either way. 5)your computer will want you to install a driver for your phone. do so if you have it, otherwise search for it on the internet. then download and install it (search your phone's model, example: "Verizon LG EnV2 computer driver download") 6)now run the program and go file>>connect. if you've done evrything right then it should autodetect your phone in one of the COMs (note: its impossible for it to be COM1 or COM2, if it says it is, then something is wrong) 7)click the extract data button and select what data you're extracting from your phone. then you just wait. technically these could be offensive towards blacks as they are implying that whites are better. tehn again its not because it doesnt specifically mention blacks but they DO imply that whites are better. like the 1 about the white guy getting up early cause he has a job. its implying that other races or blacks dont have jobs because they cant get them for whatever reason. these jokes are still technically racists towards all other races except whites. it may not be blatantly said but it is inferred.

So. For those of you who saw, I previously posted a topic about 2 wireless routers that I was debating between getting. Well I ended up getting the d-link ([http://dlink.com/products/?pid=530](http://dlink.com/products/?pid=530)). But when I set it up, my internet became deathly slow. often when loading pages it would time out. I have a cable connection to a modem, which is connected to the router, and then is sent to 2 xboxs via ethernet cable and 2 computers via wifi. At least thats what it was when i had my linksys. but the network card in my laptop isnt even picking up the d-link's wifi so i've had to get a direct connection for that. But anyways, back to the point. I tried configuring it many different ways, looked up guides for it, etc. I tried disabling security and the Qos engine or w/e its called that determines which connections take priority. I even resorted to calling the dreaded support line where i was met by foreigners. i ended up collectively wasting about 30 minutes asking "What did you say?" in my futile attempts to understand their English. I called them 3 times, each time telling me to do the same thing, which I had already tried before calling. So I unhooked it and now just have my laptop hooked up to modem. So… if any1 knows why my connection was being so slow... please help me. :) It may be a hardware problem... and If i can't fix it then I'll probably end up sending it back to NewEgg. thanks :)

The new method of placing NPCs on the map is very bothersome. the old way worked much better where u selected it as an attribute and then the window popped up asking you which NPC to spawn there. the current method causes you to have to already know the x and y coordinates and enter them. also u can't deselect the window where u enter it so you cant really go back and fourth to check. also, it would be a nice addition if the map editors and such's scrolling capabilities were better. like when you load tile set 1 it would be nice if you could grab the scroll bar and scroll down and actually have the image follow you. it would be much faster. It would also be nice to be able to name each tileset something else in the editor and the actual file name. it'd help if u organized them yourself and say that one tileset is winter. 1 is caves. 1 is swamp. 1 is greenland. 1 is city, etc. another nice addition (not so much programming) would be if the default tile sheets and GFX in general had more and was organized better. lthere are a lot of resources out there to use but the current 1s look a tad sloppy. not all but some. i myself am working on compiling and organizing these. also a list of in-game commands included in the server would be nice. some of them dont exactly follow. like you have /mapeditor and /editnpc. why not /npceditor or /editmap. sure you could go in and program those yourself but it would be nice to just have the master copy for everyone to download to have those all the same by default. and then a list included in the server folder like i said. there used to be 1 in the help section but its gone. speakinbg of the help section, why not use it? at least remove that part of the program altogether and put other things there, like the character file editor or script editor or whatever. or maybe links to sections of the forums. or actual new help files. idk. i just think that the overall server could be utilized a lot better. although i will say since i began using eclipse it has greatly improved. a lot of what was broken or poorly functioning works a lot better now. new possible attributes that would help to eliminate scripting would be nice as well. idk what would be used specifically but im sure others can think of some things. most of my ideas are minor additions. and i cant really complain since i dont know how to do any of them… except the GFX 1. but they would all be nice :)

basically I need to get the HD signal being transmitted by the video component RGB cables converted to the signal that is transfered through the yellow video composite cable. It doesn't matter how it happens as long as at one end there are jacks for component video and on the other a jack for composite video. Anything in between them is fine, You could use several converters to get this, as long as it works. thanks to any1 who can figure out a combinations of items that can do this for me! ONLY 1 RULE: can't be run through a computer.

I got ripped off on ebay for this, looked a bit suspicious at first but I stupidly bought anyways. I got a fake Sony 8GB Pro Duo MS card. I'm currently doing a paypal dispute session and if I can't get a 100% (im going for 110% :p) refund i'm going to file a claim with paypal's buyer protection. I bought it for $55 with $15 shipping. Well, I've been on and off of eclipse over the years (i think my first version was the original 3.1 or something) and now that I decided to check up on it again I noticed that there is no nice compiliation of all the files for the newest version. People just are posting the updates and are allowing them to be scattered. Example: need a .dat editor to change character accounts, not included with the newest version, user needs to go hunt the forums for it. I'm just asking if anyone who has been with eclipse for a really long time would be willing to compile a COMPLETE server, client, and resources folder and zip them for the whole community to use. I would do this myself but because I haven't been with eclipse for some time, I don't have all of these files and programs, so if anybody has all or almost all of the newest files and a large number of resources could you compile them and upload for others on the forums to use? thanks! EDIT: some more examples are: newest and most filled tile sheets all misc. programs to help with using eclipse newest/largest character sheets 32x32 and 32x64 newest/largest spells multiple GUIs (like all the old 1s that Spike made) basically a compilation of the newest/largest of everything. even if its unneeded, just throw it in the resource folder. again, thanks for any1 who helps! if this works out well, then all the future version could use this so the proglem won't come up again.

I've posted these elsewhere on the forums, one on the wishlist and the other in the resources section (re fer to my siggy links). but since these can be used for more than just eclipse I've decided to post about them both here as well. The screen recorder is called camstudio. Its open source and has a wide variety of features including a .swf output mode. The homepage for this is http://www.camstudio.org/ but you can click the camstudio link in my sig to go to my older post of this where i have compiled an installer for anyone who wants it + gives more details (some of the drivers needed to run the program were missing so thats why i compiled and made the installer). The video converter is the bink video converter by rad games. it can be found on their homepage at http://www.radgametools.com/ . This useful item converts videos of just about any format to .bik files which do take up a lot more memory but take up A LOT less of ur cpu's power depending on the settings you convert it with. This helps older comps with 1ghz or less quite a lot. I believe there is a codec to play these in windows media player or other players besides the one that comes with the converter. ill post those when i find them. one last thought: most game cutscenes have been done using this converter so it can load while playing the scene. Bioshock is one of the more recent users of this technology. post or comments any questions or difficulties you have.

I would like the eclipse engine to support .bik files which are made from a video converter made by RAD game tools (this is the same converter used in MANY video games including the famous Bioshock). This converter basically HIGHLY minimizes the cpu usage for a video compared to what it is in its default format (avi, mp4, w/e) but it also increases its size depending on the settings you use with it. there are several things good about using this: in game cutscenes could be shown (pre-recorded) with minimal cpu usage so it can still run the game, causing less overall lag. And also the files would be in .bik format so those who don't actually have the converter wouldn't be able to watch them unless they are at that poiint in the game. To do this the game client would need a simple video player that can read .bik files (the RAD site may supply code for this, idk though). This would also require the map editor to include something for placing activation tiles down for these or at least some for of scripting. I would also like some sort of screen and sound recorder supplied, for making cutscenes. Im more going towards the .bik media player though but a built in recorder would be nice also.
