How would I set this up? I'm kind of confused. I want to get it working but I have a few questions: A. where would I put this in my games folder (EO 2.0)? B. After that than what do I do? I can make my own RARs now :D

You don't need VB6 to use Eclipse. It's possible to install scripts without VB6 and it's also possible to view source code without it, I don't think it's possible to compile it though. As far as your VB problem, go to the Microsoft website and find the download, when it askes you to 'save' or 'run' choose run, this runs the installation program. Leave everything at defaults and the installer will (slowly) install a bunch of crap, most of which you don't even need, onto your computer. Trust me I know they did that to me with MSVC++ they'll do it for VB too.

Strange. Maybe the file you're downloading is associated with game maker. What exactly are the steps you take when you go to download it.

I got the quests to work… WITHOUT VB INSTALLED! I used alators quest system, added all the files I needed and replaced the .exes for server and client. So no, I don't need VB. I think it's sad that a MMORPG engine gets released and doesn't have a questing system in the first place. At least XW had that. Well than again, the new mirage realms starts with questing and a quest log... and it's still in development.

what's this alatars quest system you guys are talking about?

I'm guessing it was because the GUI he used didn't have the same dimensions as the default Eclipse GUIs. Happened to me yesterday :D

geez I hope somebody can slap him now… I don't really want to download winRAR, I don't need it. Edit: Can you create rars without WinRAR? As in just naming a file compression.rar? Edit2: I figured out how. All you have to do is download a small rar file, open it and delete all of it's contents and than rename it :D

/editquest is not working for me. I really need to get quests to work on this and I don't have VB (because my computer has enough junk already) so I'm not going to source edit, unless theirs a way I can paste source code file inside the src folder…

Can I use a .zip instead of a WinRAR? I'm pretty sure but I just want to check…

I can't find where the quest editor is. If you would like to take the time explanations on what everything does would be nice to but it's not nessecary :D I really hope this is possible… I'm using EO 2.0.

FIX THE LINK! I've been looking for these resources: Items, Paperdoll, Sprites, I've been looking for quite a while too. These are the first in EO Format! Edit: Don't make it megaupload either… :)

Thanks :D I was worried a bit there when I thought the creater of the engine didn't know what the stats did.

Usually stats are the following: Strength, Defense, Speed, Magic. But the Eclipse stats are different. What do Eclipse stats do? I just thought it might be a little helpful when I'm making my game to know that. Any help? I'm using Eclipse Origins.

Download XW from Cnet and than realize it's not as easy as they thought it would be, sign up for the forums, and realize that they're dead! B. Screw XW and go to Eclipse, or G2D if they even find out about it.

1\. XW people treat all the noobs like crap. If you use any of the defaults, they'll flame you until you quit XW and leave the forums for ever… :D didn't work on me. 2\. XW forum is cluttered with spam bots. There is about... 3 spam bots on there now. Maybe more. 3\. The wiki/website is not a website. It's filled with spam, all the tutorials and download links are now gone. _STOP ADVERTISING_. I just thought you people might want to know how much XWs community is failing right now.

I'm working on Alderania Online with EO. I was making a game called 'Infinite Universe' but I went back to Alderania Online once I got into XW. Oh yeah, all the XW people ditched the XW forums, they went and joined this new forum called -no advertising- which is XW specific but is thinking on creating a new engine.
