  1. Update : Aaaaaaannnnnnnddddddd Scotts awesome! Super big hand of applause to this man please. He has been trying to help me stabilize my engine and has added things to it and taught me how to add some things to my engine.

He (Scott) actually gets all the credit for the class changing system because the one I made with events ( and finished) failed. Turns out the event system as of my engine can't handle massive amounts of commands. I'm pretty sure I'm the only person to push the event system as far as it can go ( at least with a purpose outside of testing.)

Now before I say what I'm about to say… Scott made it very clear that he really enjoys helping people that not only want to help themselves, but actually try. This is probably the reason I have got such great help from him. Now that that is said and made clear... I have got more help from Scott for free than I have from many programmers that have charged.

    > Interesting. But what is wrong with overpowered classes? Isn't that OP!!! Anyways, good progress report on Endless Waltz.

lol I'm used to playing hard games =p

Thank you I can't wait to see what you are working on.

You are right. I have screen shots on the main topic, but they really need to be updated. A lot has been added and changed to the system.
  2. Would you write simple tutorial fixes?

When using random variable selector from player variables in the event system, it will sometimes select no variable number at all (which I found reads as 0) even if you selected the min. to something higher then 0\.

    also

You can not have more than one working auto start event with a timer. It will cause them to bug out.
  3. Well the first big thing I had I was going to add to my game is a class changing system that remembers your level and class. When ever you change one class to another class you get to keep your level between the different classes you change. I've started on this system myself, using the event system and a small custom script edit. I had to make 100 variables for all 6 classes and set the event to memorize what level the class was and give it that variable. I finished that part. Now I have to do the reverse.

    But I found a problem…

I have one of my classes set to not use points at all ( summoner). The summoner would be over powered if it could use points. I've gotten quite use to the set up of this class like that too. ( the points one uses to increase stats.) While I figured out its not a problem for the other 5 classes, It would really mess up all the other classes if they changed to summoner any time before level 100, because the only way I can see around it is to take all the points away when they switch to Summoner. Another great idea would that would be simple is if I could make a small source edit that said

If class is # ( where # would be the number for summoner)

Then can not press plus sign on points.

The other surprise, I didn't want to mention unless it was stable, was instance maps.

I paid one programmer to add it. That person was un-able. Another programmer has agreed to do it, however this person is very busy...He has added it to my engine and events even work with it. There are just some small bugs to work out.

As a rule of thumb I really try not to mention programmers names or the work they are doing until the work is finished and I can only say good things about them. But.... Ever Since JC and Captian Wabbit and even SETH, sometimes Robin... I really want to thank programmers ( any and all that have helped or tried to help) for helping my dreams come true... I would not have gotten as far as I have without them.
  4. Its the only thing that keeps me going, from seeing so many people that quit. It makes me sad.

At this point I'm only really finishing just as a means to an end.  I do still intend on releasing it in a professorial manor ( at least to my standards lol)
  5. There is definitely going to be one big thing added to my engine I want to keep as a surprise, until I finish ( hopefully this weekend) and then also MAYBE one other huge thing. I'll say what both are soon.

I feel like the game is progressing nicely though, and I wanted to let you all know its still being worked on =)
  6. Map Instances isn't looking so good so far… Which is kind of a bummer...

Lately I been trying to figure out how I am going to organize everything I have made so far. A lot of things I want to put in the game require some sort of programming, so everything else just seems meh..

There are some things that have been paused for me at the moment, like the direction of the story. To be more precise is how fast to progress it. I could prolong or speed it up as much as I want. I want a good pace. The story is ready to roll out and is figured out from start to end, but I am not sure how much detail to give in between. Lets call it a focus problem.

I still feel like I should release more enemies and items and such before release as well. So there you have it! That's the current state at which I thought I had a "soon to be released" game lol.

  8. Of course not stein. If you were referring to a store like a grocery store… Everyone knows that kind of store can not move on it's own, thus it can not come to your house. Interesting thou, referring to meat as to a comparison with software and the term store without the mention of management or it's people. I do get what you are both saying thou... It's is just a question I was curious about. I would have been excited to look forward to something new and neat, or a little surprise of sorts. I just consider it a good business practice.

A clothing store named "Buckle" that I like to shop from has a nice example. I asked "What if I buy this shirt and the next week you guys mark it 50% off"? They replied "We'll refund you that amount." That's actually never happened to me yet sadly lol...

Well stein... being a member of administration... if your answer is as it comes from developers and owners a like, I guess I could consider my question answered. This topic isn't here to argue or fight about anything, nor a discussion. So if you would be so kind to simply reply something long the lines of " It is so." I will ever so kindly mark this as "resolved." Until then I was kind of looking for a more authentic answer...

Edit: Was your mention of "wine" a reference to the saying that goes a little like this " Have some cheese with your wine?"
  9. Not sure if it was asked in a topic before this.

So does anyone that bought Gold before the 50% off deal get something a little extra?

I was kind of thinking about how I spent 500$ on two 3DS when they first came out.

Then the price drop so super soon after US release that it made my head spin…

So Nintendo said to all those that bought it before the price drop will  get these ambassador rewards ( which were crap and not worth what I spent extra) but still made me think if you guys thought of something like this.

I do recognize that the 3DS kept its reduced price and yours is a special of sorts. I still thought it worth bring up. Anything extra for those that bought before this price cut?

  11. Third map mentioned above fixed and pretty much finished.I have not tied all the ideas together yet, but I have plans for blacksmithing, cooking, potions, and cloth crafting in the city. It's planned to have a trainer for each class (6 so far) and also a grand master trainer. All for the purpose of individuation and gameplay depth.
