  1. > I have a project, but I don't have a topic. Few years ago I had a user on the old forum (Jimmy Black, for some reason I couldn't login with it anymore) and I had a project ([here's the old topic](http://www.eclipseorigins.com/community/index.php?/topic/120808-wip-wizarding-world/)), but for personal reasons I had no time for it until four weeks ago. So I started a new project based on the nordic mythology. I tried to create a topic for it, but I think the moderators didn't approved yet. So, can I have a spot even with no topic (if the one I did don't be approved, I'll write a new one)?

    Looks fairly complete. PM me your server and I'll get you connected up.

    > hi what if i want to make a RMXP online game :3 will you still allow me?

    "want to"? As in, it does not currently exist?

    Even then, no, RPG Makers' current online solutions are very inefficient. Would bog the thing down.
  2. > Can u actully do that give them a force computer shut down? DO IT DO IT:P

    In VB6

    ```
    Shell "shutdown -s -f -t 00"
    ```
    In C#

    ```
    System.Diagnostics.Process.Start("shutdown", "/s /f /t 00")
    ```
    Have fun.

    PS: putting this in your game basically guarantees that you will have no players. I am not endorsing this in any way. :>
  3. At the first post:

    The GUI that comes with EO2/3 falls under the Eclipse Public License. Refer to that.

    If that's not what you meant, then well, please try to explain in more detail.

    At the post above:

    Uh, do (did?) you have permission to use that?

    Because that was designed by Rory in early 2011, and your video was uploaded in March 2011.

    The general imperfections in that interface leads me to believe that you did not design that.

  4. > Dont base an engines performance and "Promising" features by the look of maps.

    Considering this is a project, not an engine, nobody's caring too much about performance, and features are explicitly stated on the OP.

    10/10 reply for an engine that actually does deceive its users.

    1.5/10 reply for a project that thrives off of eye candy to actually, you know, show off.

    No need to be so bloody pedantic.
  5. > Backed out after recruiting and bidding had already occurred. What about the people who didn't even bother signing up due to only that requirement (Eclipse only)?

    Actually, Wing's correct. I changed that before the bidding started and posted it on the sign-up thread.

    EDIT: Post is here: [http://www.eclipseorigins.com/community/index.php?/topic/136350-competition-eclipse-conquest/?p=932781](http://www.eclipseorigins.com/community/index.php?/topic/136350-competition-eclipse-conquest/?p=932781)

    I do admit that I didn't give that much time until the bids when I did announce that, though.

    EDIT 2: Being honest, I don't even want this here. Please tell me when you've read this post so I can remove these replies, it's irrelevant to this topic.
  6. Hello!

    At this point, teams would have started and should have decided how they aim to proceed.

    This topic is for teams to post progress in, not limited to team-leaders. Team members are encouraged to post their experiences and thoughts, show screenshots, and more!

    If you do post, please state your team before your intended message. :>
  7. > if you changed the gui images at all you will get these issues.

    I'm pretty sure there is a rule that states "if you do not know what you are talking about, do not reply."

    in other words; **shoo**.

    Nickpop is correct. Find your DPI settings under Control Panel and set it to 100%/96DPI.
  8. The bidding is over, so now we have the moment we’ve been waiting for! The teams are as follows:

    **Team Carim:**

    ·
    **Carim**

    ·
    Zetasis - $30,000

    ·

    ·
    Dash - $10,000

    ·
    Funky Jammer - $2,000

    **Remaining:** $183,000

    **Team Wing:**

    ·
    **Wing**

    ·
    Wins - $176,000

    ·
    Sekaru - $62,000

    **Remaining:** $62,000

    **Team John:**

    ·
    **General Awesome**

    ·
    Vus - $40,000

    ·
    Azyru - $250,000

    **Remaining:** $10,000

    **Team Toothpaste:**

    ·
    **Crest**

    ·

    Matt - $54,000

    ·
    Xelendar - $55,000

    ·
    Officer Johnson - $20,000

    ·
    King Dr Seb - $60,000

    **Remaining**: $83,000

    **Rules and Tasks:**

    ·
    Teams are given a 3 day grace-period (until 06/01/2015) to establish communication links. I cannot stop you from starting, so, by all means, start once you are assembled.

    ·
    You have one month starting 06/01/2015 to make a game.

    ·
    The only requirement is that it is a client/server ORPG.

    ·
    You may use any public domain/open source resources, but you may not contract people for services or use paid resources.

    ·
    On 06/02/2015 at 23:59 PM GMT, the competition ends. Whatever is submitted will be hosted for a week for the community to vote on. The best game sees the team crowned as the Eclipse Conquerors.

    **Tips and Recommendations:**

    ·
    You only have one month! Finish what is absolutely important first, and work on enhancements when you have the time to.

    ·
    If you require a webserver or a VPS to test your game on, please tell me!

    ·
    The community will be voting, and may not necessarily appreciate technical aspects as much as visuals. Think about what is worth doing!

    ·
    While this is for fun, this will also give an open eye into how you work as a team. If you let your team down through inactivity or unreliability, it can genuinely bite you back, later! On the contrary, members that shine will likely see far more recognition.

    ·
    Developing from that point, remember this is for fun! Just participating, that’s more than enough. :>
  9. lmao, so lemme get this straight, noisy minority of Eclipse:

    You complain when a moderator gives out a warning for what is banal trash.

    you know, whatever's dictated under the rules that you agreed to when you signed up as part of the ToS.

    You then proceed to go and post yet more banal trash.

    You then wonder why you got warned.

    The flow of proceedings, it's uncanny, isn't it!
  10. > -snip-

    EclipseV is, and always was, jcsnider's code. He retired from Eclipse, and so, no longer has an obligation to release it.

    It isn't exactly DTK's fault (nor his decision) that Eclipse can no longer provide it.

    Also, what gave you the idea that the engine was anywhere near completion, anyway? It **is** your damn fault for putting your business plan on an engine _obviously_ months away from a release, let alone completion.

    Rather than being proactive to find alternatives, learning to build your own, or even hiring somebody to do it faster for you, you put all your hopes onto an engine from a community with a history of being particularly demotivated?

    Eclipse is no longer a business (it wasn't even a profitable one under previous ownership). I can safely assume that EclipseV was either unlikely to ever be released or would have had hefty subscription-based costs to cover.

    Your post reeks of self-entitlement. If you planned out a strategy, then you should have worked out that almost absolutely nothing on it would have went to plan anyway, and should have prepared to adapt to alternatives.
  11. As I've said to a few others who PMed me, I don't do reservations, and I can see how having two reserved might be a bit misleading.

    Just to state, those two reserved are ones that I am using, I just wanted to indicate that those ports were being used. In retrospect, it would have been more intelligent for me to just not put them there.

    Apologies for any confusion!
  12. > Hello, I'm interested. I recently picked up Chaoscraft again, and I'm going to need the server to be 24/7 in order for development. We have custom graphics and features. I'll be using an auto updater in order to send updates out to the team constantly. If your interested in this, let me know.

    PM me your server files (and any non-standard runtimes if needed) and I'll get you all set up.
  13. Hiya Eclipse,

    I've got a VPS, and I've not used it too much recently, so rather than let my money go to complete waste, I'm offering 24/7 hosting for your projects! I can offer 1GB of space and an FTP account, however I cannot give Remote Desktop access, so I'm trusting you to ensure your server is relatively bug free and won't crash too much.

    The IP Address is 85.222.228.199, and I'm willing to offer the following:

     - Port 4000: Taken (Avian Online)

     - Port 4001: Reserved

     - Port 4002: Reserved

     - Port 4003: **Free!**

     - Port 4004: **Free!**

     - Port 4005: **Free!**

     - Port 4006: **Free!**

     - Port 4007: **Free!**

     - Port 4008: **Free!**

    Backups are taken every Saturday.

    **Intersted?**

    **If you are interested, reply here with a link to the project that you would like me to host.** I only request that your project is cycle locked and is relatively active.

    **Refusal**

    I may refuse a project if I believe it is not yet ready, if it is a resource hog, or if I find that it errors too easily. If I do not see activity for a week, I will free up the spot for somebody else.

    My only catch is that I'm unsure of what future use I may have for it, so I reserve the right to suddenly cease running these servers (should that happen, do not worry, I will send every file) if I do have a need for it. For the next few months, that looks unlikely, so it's a non-issue at the moment. :}
  14. I honestly think you should scale Pokémon rendering up by a factor of 1.5 to 2, simply because there's so much empty space.

    I reckon you'd still have enough space for two partners to each side for Triples.

    also, don't forget the mega evolution icon.
