I'm all for it.
The matter is finding where to upload said scripts/plugins/whatever, how are we going to make it look/function, and who is going to/how we're going to populate it.
I'll take it up with Matthew, and see if we'll develop on the concept, and I'll put back what we can come up with. -
The slight problem is that almost every single member here is ultimately terrible at finding a balance between fun/randomness and professionalism.
@Above: Good lord. That is all. -
Allow the user to select themes. Then you won't have to compromise the opinions of your users. ![:P](http://www.touchofdeathforums.com/community/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.png)

You may want to round off your distances. Two/three decimal places? ![:P](http://www.touchofdeathforums.com/community/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.png)

You need to either delete your conversations, convert them to reflect the new format, or do what Ryo said (provided you've not made any attempt to edit your conversations). Any of them is fine.

The joys of CSS3; there's a (not quite) new method. ![:D](http://www.touchofdeathforums.com/community/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.png) -
> Programmers do not count toward creating a game world. He may be a great programmer, but he has no idea what he is talking about when it comes to creating a world via mapping and art.
That assumption implies that you think that all programmers are graphically inept. That's a terrible assumption to make.
> I don't like how he has this high arrogance about him. Comes in this thread discrediting NeoX acting like he's doing people bad or something. Just piss off and let him try to help people learn game development.
Arrogance? Ah, I _suppose_ you _totally don't_ do the same yourself…but of course, we'll deal with semantics another time.
First, nobody came in here to explicitly discredit[1] Neox, neither has anybody done so. Nobody implied that he's doing anything bad to people, your subjective [which it obviously is, as you took him calling the maps of Silverdale bad as a personal attack] view took it in that manner.
-Nobody- is trying to stop Neox. If anything, you are being a hindrance[2] to him, as they are only asking questions for the good of anybody else interested in watching, while you're posting things unrelated to the topic.
Now, stop, otherwise I'll have to just remove the lot if you won't take the point.
EDIT: Any more issues, PM me. Don't put it here.
[1] dis·cred·it
Verb: Harm the good reputation of (someone or something).
[2]hin·drance
Noun: A thing that provides resistance, delay, or obstruction to something or someone.
> Defiantly going to be hard to keep up that kinda work on a day-to-day basis, what made you choose such an intense schedule?
I want to know, too. I couldn't think of how you'd be able to have fresh content for each day, and do each day live. I wonder how well rehearsed he is with the streams? -
An Eclipse game, by the staff, to show members how it's done? ![:P](http://www.touchofdeathforums.com/community/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.png)

Richy's computer obliterates itself at the prospect of running DX8. -
Nobody here has a game big enough worth doing so, yet.

That is all.
EDIT: OK, I should be more specific. Code Injection -obviously- won't work like that.
Unless if you can somehow accidentally create an instance of the Microsoft Scripting Runtime, and mix it up with a textbox, but if that's the case, VB6 probably isn't for you. -
If they erased all of your stuff, that's down to people with access having stupid passwords.
The best prevention is to use strong passwords, remove access when it's not needed, and only delegate high access to people who need it. (In this case, the only person would be you.) -
> Thanks Owain, by the way are you from Wales? Because that will make two of us. Just wandering because Owain is a common name around these parts. Sorry Artix but I'm looking for someone with a more professional approach to hire me. I'll see if I can dig it up on the forums here.
Nah, it's just the character I'm playing around as. (Funilly enough, I was considering ShirÅ) ![:P](http://www.touchofdeathforums.com/community/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.png)
Anyway, as said, I'd like to ask you to join my [team](http://glaciate.net/downloads.php?dlid=7&cat=2) [, as I'm in need of mappers, but like many others, I really would like to see examples.](, as I'm in need of mappers, but like many others, I really would like to see examples.) -
> for me as long as the first map he does for me is good all take him
Considering you have an aversion to properly spelling "I'll", I'm 99.9% certain that I can speak for him and tell you that you're not serious enough. -
I'd really consider showing examples. You won't expect to get onto a pseudo-serious project with nothing to demonstrate.

Make sure:
* That this gold is the FIRST item in the Item Editor. It must be the first in the index. If it isn't, make it that.
* In the Item Editor, make sure it has the Currency type on the Item Type selection box. Fix it if it isn't.
* Make sure you actually have the gold in your inventory!
If it doesn't show after the above, show me a screenshot of your item editor, and your inventory and gold label. -

That's pretty nice. ![:P](http://www.touchofdeathforums.com/community/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.png)
As a sidenote, you probably should obliterate where I've used DoEvents, and it's worth looking into changing from DownloadFile to DownloadFileAsync. My laziness unfortunately knows no bounds. ![:P](http://www.touchofdeathforums.com/community/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.png) -
Bumping, as people seemingly can't find this.
Apparently, using the search bar is too rigorous a task for some. -
> Nope. These guys are all jumping on the hate wagon simply on the basis that there were no developers present to show off their tech aside from Activision with Call of Duty.
Nah, that's not my reason.
I'm just "hating" on it because it makes me feel better about the fact that I probably won't be able to afford it. :'D -
I voted for Voobus, on the basis of it looking the best, and how its quite a general style to most Eclipse games.
Even if he is banned, but, eh… -
I'm apparently unable to mute members, but I can stick members in the No Shoutbox group.
Go figure what happened next.
I requested a modmin with powers move you from the No Shoutbox group, and to set an actual timed mute. For how long is down to them.
There was no need to create a topic. -
Artix:
in Admin Zone
So, he decided to have a short spam-fest, and I stuck a warning. I also tried to mute him, but I couldn't do so, so I moved him to the No Shoutbox group instead (Which I find odd. :p)
Could any Modmin with shoutbox powers move him from there, and actually set a timed mute on him, please? -
…why is "prefer" even an option?
If you plan to make it for both, make it for both. :| -
You have immense reams of time flowing from a golden infinitely-tall hourglass.
That is all.
Eclipse Engine Store

Who said anything about scripting?
In my opinion, we should build on [Automata](http://www.touchofdeathforums.com/community/index.php?/topic/123901-eclipse-automata-revision-2/#entry791614), allow users to upload source edits with the right formatting to a storefront, convert some already existing and popular tutorials into the correct format, and let the user compile after addition.
It'd allow us to actually have good version control, and would actually serve as a general-purpose updater, if we could build on it.
Believe me. I would love to NOT head back to scripting, but it's fairly obvious that simple work as opposed to learning to do it seems to be the general consensus now, as much as it kills me. So, just say "oh well", and go along with it, so, I'd like to come up with an alternative to scripting that wouldn't kill the engine, rather than just resist it. Yes, I've given up trying to tell people to learn. ![:P](http://www.touchofdeathforums.com/community/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.png)
