I'd very much like to use the ones im currently having problems with, it leaves me with more options as to how to paperdoll things, the problem i have is where is the base, cause i can't seem to find it, and it uses all 3 sprite directions for movement, so it's difficult to tell where it's faulty. Like weapons, you said they are x-16, but x-16 from where?

I'm sorry man, i still don't get the paperdolling, i got the facing down row looking ok but the other ones i can't figure out, they all wind up outside of it's grid, invading on the next one if you dont want to cut out too much. Would it be possible for you to upload a template with where the hands are? on a paperdoll sheet that is.
  3. Alright cool! And deleting the client side map caches fixed it. I just have one question, i skimmed through all the pages but i couldn't find a definitive answer, and that is why cant i pick up items or is there something i havent tried? I feel dumb as shit
  4. Some weird bug has happened.

    I was writing an event(was in the talkbox part, writing text only, nothing else, and i got RTE 9 subscript out of range, and then the map turned to this http://imgur.com/uxwxncI

    Trying to create an event on that map now gives the same RTE

    Don't really know what to report or how i triggered it, but might be something worth looking into
  5. I have a lot of sprites, and because i made a mistake after having changed about 400 sprites, i have to redo them. The problem is the ones i have are in different directions than the ones Skywyre uses, as you can imagine it is very tedious to change them all manually, is it possible to change how the servers read the sprite sheets somehow?

    Sorry for the hotbar and chat text, can't remove it right now, need  the updated engine to screenshot entire maps, so i chose a few that are the standard dimensions.

    With those out of the way, as you can read in the first post, there will be two class advancements(total of 14 classes including start class), now im asking whoever is reading, would you prefer to have it like this, keeping the last advancement very difficult and take a long time to obtain, or make the difficulty mid-ranged and then adding one more advancement for all of the 8 last ones, later in the game, so that people have more things to accomplish? Input please!

    And overall development is going good! So far there has only been mapping done as i am still waiting for some parts of the engine to be completed.

    Thanks! I'll be preparing a big update post for when i get the new part of the engine. I need some map effects for better visual impact :)

    Haha, thanks :) They're actually six maps, did those on Xtremeworlds a few years ago. I think i'm going to use those tile combinations for something with this game.

  8. So i am finally after many years getting a custom engine made.

    I have been planning and writing down things from time to time for quite a long time now, and i will use it to make what i think is going to be an awesome game

    **The Game**

    Does not have a name, for now i shall refer to it as Project X. It will focus heavily on your character and you, and how you evolve your character

    There is a main storyline that lasts you until early into the game, after that it's all about individual choices, what you want to do and what interests you and what does not. After the first storyline ends, your options will depend on what class you choose(more on this on Classes further down). You can play for the PVP and World PVP(will be encouraged), or doing quests and dungeons or work on improving your character through crafting and other things to do, like arenas and so on.

    Another reason why i chose not to have a main storyline for people to follow is because i believe a games community is much more fun, even if you play solo.

    Regarding storylines, Instead of having one main storyline for your character that he has to follow, there will be set up(both class and non-class restrictive) very long and some more difficult than others, with rewards and what not for doing them.

    **Classes and Advancements**

    Upon character creation, Project X allows you to choose between a Soldier and a Conjurer, from there on you can choose between two classes each, with each option having two more further options down the line, like this image linked below, which has the current class names laid out, wl = weak light, wd = weak dark, m = medium and s = strong, each class differs from each other based on their alignment, what skills/spells they can learn, where they belong, what quests they can pick up, meaning some classes will allow the player to do certain things other classes cant and vice versa.

    I wijll most likely add one or two more advancements for the current last advancements somewhere down the line

The Second Third and Fourth images are new ones i made just now because i was bored, i am waiting for a custom engine, so i figured i'd share both new and old maps for anyone who is interested, and yes i know, some are a bit unfinished and sloppy, this is because most of these were made for fun, and was never intentioned to made into a game, anyhow, comment on them regardless! (the first image in the album is two maps joined together, together they are 206x189\. The rest are normal sized(altho i prefer the bigger maps, for more fluent gameplay) I hope you enjoy :)

  10. Hello. I am looking for someone to do source code edits to an open source engine(Mirage Legacy) i am using.

    **Who am i and why should you work with me?**

    I am 24 years old from Sweden. I've been working with 2D games since i was around 14(not constantly, of course), starting with Playerworlds a long time ago. During that time i can safely say that i know what i am doing when it comes to developing a game such as this. I have never learned how to program myself because it was never appealing to me, i've always appreciated the graphical aspect of developing more than the programming part of the creating process.

    I have previously worked on my game Adea(XW based), which has been worked on on and off for a year or two, i always lost interest because XW is never updated and never will be. And before that i had a PW game called Full Moon Online, iirc there was around 25~ people online 24/7\. But this was during the golden era of the Mirage games, so it's not that impressive, really.

    Before i get into the game information i thought i'd clarify why i will not pay someone to work with me. It is because i'm not doing this to earn money. The game will always be free and all of it's features will be, regardless of it's success or non-success. It is a hobby and will remain as such. I do this because i enjoy to create, and whoever i find to work with me should be equally interested in creating something that has potential.

    **Game Information**

    So! About the game. The world is called Adea.

    There is no main plot for your character. Instead there are both very long and major storylines, and short and not as important to the world. You start the game stranded on the island shown in the first screenshot in the screenshots section.

    The game is heavily focused on character development, and the path you yourself choose for your character(more on this further down). I've never really enjoyed being forced to follow a storyline, exploring and doing what you want in a game is what i think is important.

    There are A LOT of features i have written down and how i want them to work, which will make the game fun and unique and still have "endgame" so to speak. With a lot of PVP things planned(if everything goes as planned), i will not delve further into this as of now, instead i will when i have word for what will work and how to go about it.

    Class system will work in the form of advancements. Instead of explaining which who what and where, i've made this image, nothing is final yet.

    Each advancement will involve a (varying)long quest chain to reach your new class. What are the letters next to the classes you ask? They stand for their dark / light alignment. W - Weak, M - Medium. S - Strong. This affects a various amount of things, such as access to areas and quests among other things. This won't affect your character until you've gotten into the game a little bit.

Neither of these three maps are 100% finished, in fact they're rather rough, but i chose to show these three because you're able to see what type of mapping style i have. I love the SNES generation, and have drawn a lot of inspiration from that, so if you liked the RPG games of SNES you will probably enjoy my mapping.
