Having eliminated all terrorism in the real world, the U.S. intelligence community is working to develop software that will detect violent extremists infiltrating World of Warcraft and other massive multiplayer games, according to a data-mining report from the Director of National Intelligence. What the f**k!?!

  9. So we have finally gotten are own server aptly named "Touch of Death". It should prevent all those internal server errors from happening. Also the site should be running way faster now. I personally see a huge difference in speed and i hope you will to. So, yea forums should be running better faster and error free now. Enjoy Anyone noticing the speed differences?

    Anti Bot Mod

Due to the increase in spambots plaguing the forum with unwanted medical ads and pornography i have decided to implement a mod that will further the fight against bots. Now on registration you will have to fill in if you are a human or a bot. It is simply and hopefully will stop the stream of annoying spam.

    Veteran Test

I was really bored so i made a test to see if you are a veteran of Eclipse. Not sure what kind of scores people will get. It was quickly and crappily done so don't judge the spelling mistakes lack of grammar and shitty score cards. http://www.nerdtests.com/mq/take.php?id=38532

  17. Hello, I dont know if anyone has experienced a internal Server Error yet. But i have been experiencing a very large amount of them during peak hours. I have contacted my host about the problem and this is the answer they provided. I would be glad to assist you with problem, it looks like these errors are coming up because your website is over utilizing it's fair share of memory. 2008-01-24 10:53:34 kill 27350 marsh0 php5.cgi "Process puts user over total memory limit" Consider looking into getting a Dreamhost PS ( http://www.dreamhostps.com ) to help accommodate your site's growing needs. I am currently looking into how much memory we are using and how much memory we are allowed. But basically because the site is growing we are going to have to move to a dedicated server. Not sure all the details on it because im still new to this area but it means the hosting cost is going to spike a huge amount. Just telling you guys this to let you know why the errors are happening and why they are continuing to happen for now. Hopefully no one but me is getting the error.

  21. Forums may go down for like a hour. As far as the mods the only mod we have is the ads. And im sure you guys wont miss those. @Grudge: > Dear Charter Members, > > Simple Machines is proud to announce that the second beta for SMF 2.0 has now been released. > > Coming some five months since the first beta we think you'll agree that it has certainly been worth the wait. During this period we've been working hard to fix up some of the earlier bugs, tweak the current features and, importantly, change the security model to ensure that SMF continues to be one of the most secure forum software available. > > Note that as a result of the significant work done in the last few months this release is almost certain to still have a number of bugs remaining and as such we strongly urge you not to run it on a production forum at this time. While we will do our best to provide support for the new release we cannot promise the same level of support offered for our stable releases and certainly accept no responsibility for any loss or damage incurred testing the software! > > As a Charter Member you are one of the few privileged users to have access to this software — please do not redistribute this package — it is against the license and at the very least will result in the revocation of your Charter Membership here. > > The package contains everything you need to either complete a new installation or upgrade an existing one — whether it be YaBBSE 1.5.5, SMF 1.1.4 or 2.0 Beta 1\. Note some of the caveats from Beta 1 still apply to this release - and you should consider them before upgrading: > > * Modifications for SMF 2.0 Beta 1, 1.1 and earlier are almost certain not to work until their authors have an opportunity to rewrite them. **Changes to the core have been vast and likelihood of compatibility is poor at best.** > * The upgrader will do its best to upgrade previous themes. However, this is far from fool proof and you are likely to need to tweak old themes and update them to take full advantage of SMF 2.0 functionality. Note that theme authors are unlikely to have access to 2.0 so it may take some time before released themes are updated. That said, if during the upgrade your current themes are not flawlessly updated please report a bug as we want to make this as simple as possible. > * Language packs for 1.1 will be out of date and need considerable quantities of new translations. > * Note that anyone who integrates SMF with their site and makes use of SMF's security models for this purpose should make sure they understand the changes made in this release - for more information, please consult [this topic](http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=216143.msg1379595#new) in the developers' blog - the online manual should have some information added shortly. > > Listed below is a brief summary of some of the changes made in this release: > > * Changed database security model to move responsibility for security into the controller > * Improved permissions interface > * Added support for multiple attachment folders > * Added winning birthday emails from the SMF contest > * Added option to prune logs automatically > * Added means of viewing search/replace operations when installing a mod > * Added interface to edit and add language files > * Made custom profile fields searchable on the memberlist and other improvements > * Added auto suggest control and used it on personal messages > * Added flood control and CAPTCHA to search > * Fixed repair boards to work with different database types > * Added mass topic mover to the maintenance section, and changed the maintenance area templates. > * Added admin and user logs > * Added redirection boards > * Added Paid Subscription feature - at the moment PayPal support only > * Added search engine tracking > * Made numerous improvements to the WYSIWYG editor > > You can checkout the changelog on the download page for a full list of changes. Please continue to report all bug and support issues in the dedicated SMF 2.0 board as opposed to the public boards or the helpdesk. We're also very keen to hear your feedback, positive and negative, to help us continue to improve the software. > > http://www.simplemachines.org/download.php > > Thank you, > > Simple Machines
