  1. @Rithy58: > -snip- Agreed. EO 2.0 first before going to any other thing. I also didn't want the bundle to be released.
  2. > Please do not write that I do not even try and that I learn with EO 2.0! Seriously, you should read… Plus, that's the point that we have a Q&A here in Eclipse. For people to learn, they should know. Which is the reason for the Q&A.
  3. The title says it all. How do you disable player movement? Thank you.
  4. **This guide 100% supports Version 2.0,but some parts may not work on outdated versions.** **______________________________________________________________________________** This is a simple guide on the editors and their parts/components. By the end of the tutorial, your knowledge about the item, NPC and shop editors may increase. There is no requirement for this. Probably just a fresh copy of **Eclipse Origins 2.0** and remember to have the correct **access level**. NOTE: Look at the spoilers for the parts of the following editor. **Item Editor:** Items are those pictures in your inventory. Items play a big part in a game, as it could be keys to the next dungeon or possibly a more powerful skill scroll. To make items, use the item editor. The item editor is used to create, modify and delete items. >! **Parts of the Item Editor:** ![](http://www.freemmorpgmaker.com/files/imagehost/pics/f73dc146dad390022b029ed60b167698.png) >! **Name:** This is the item name. >! **Pic:** This is the item picture. >! **Item Type:** Below pic/picture, is the item type. The types are weapon, armor, helmet, shield, consume, key, currency and spell. >! **Description:** The description that appears when you hover over an item. >! **Price:** The average price of the item. >! **Bind Type:** When you choose bind on pickup, you are stuck with the item. Rarity affects the color of the item name when you hover over it. >! **Anim:** The animation that appears when used to attack. >! **Sound:** The sound that appears when you attack an NPC. >! **Class Req:** The chosen class requirement will restrict the item only available to that class. >! **Access Req:** The chosen access requirement will restrict the item only available to that access level. >! **Level Req:** The chosen level requirement will restrict the item only available to that level. >! **Requirements:** This is the item combat requirements. It will restrict the item only available to characters with the following requirements. Strength, Endurance, Intelligence, Agility and Willpower being the stats. >! **Equipment Data:** These are the equipment data. It will only appear when the item is a weapon, armor, shield or helmet. The object tool is what the item can be and what it can do with resources. Damage is the highest possible damage it can deal. Speed is the time you wait so you can hit again when you attack. Anything with + are the stats that add up to your character when equipped. Paperdoll is the image that will appear over your character when equipped. **NPC Editor:** Are the players feeling lonely in your game? Then use non-player characters to add some action/combat and other stuff! This editor is used to modify, create, remove non-player characters. It can edit the NPC name, speech, sprite, attack range, behaviour, sound and more. >! **Parts of the NPC Editor:** ![](http://www.freemmorpgmaker.com/files/imagehost/pics/51dcc9b825f2e3d037d0bbaf8efd4aea.png) >! **Name:** This is the NPC name, the one that appears on top of the NPC. >! **Say:** This is the NPC say/speech. If the behaviour of this NPC is set to the friendly behaviour, when you press CTRL in front of the following NPC, it will send a message with the target's say/speech. >! **Sprite:** This is the sprite/character image of the NPC. You can set the NPC sprite by moving the horizontal bar. >! **Range:** This is the NPC's range/line of sight. If it is attack when attacked or guard, the NPC will only attack you when you choose to attack it. While shopkeeper and friendly behaviour can operate the say/speech. >! **Sound:** This is the NPC attack sound. When the NPC attacks you, it plays the selected sound. >! **Health:** This is the NPC's health. Value being the number of the chosen item that will be dropped. **Shop Editor:** Are your players tired of trading each other? You should learn how to make shops then! To do that, you should learn how to use the shop editor. The shop editor is used to create, modify and remove shops. >! **Parts of the Shop Editor:** ![](http://www.freemmorpgmaker.com/files/imagehost/pics/271d0544d9261b8e4aee0c86af068a07.png) >! **Name:** This is the shop name. >! **Buy Rate:** This is the percentage of an item price. >! **Item:** This is the selected item for sale. I hoped I helped you in your first steps to making your game!
  5. This is cool. I'll try it out soon… And if it does turn out good... I'll give you a cookie =D
  6. I bid farewell. Summer in my country is ending. Farewell, nabs! :P I may come back soon.(A very long time, indeed. xD)
  7. Development Closed. Read the first post for the resignation note. Regards,Apple Bloom.
  8. Naw. I'll just send him the link…
  9. Ooooh… Diamond ore to collect! This deserves a sticky!
  10. Hm… Lost it? I'll give you again soon... I can't do it right now, maybe tomorrow :(

    Optimized GUI

Cool work! What type of game are you working on,fantasy?
  12. It burns! Ooh. The old runescape items, nice rip but I won't be using them. Nice release anyway. Give credit to JAGEX Game Studios, mate.
  13. OK… Let's start answering questions! (Tell me if I'm wrong) 1.The only cheats and hacks I know you can do is some speed hacks, which is easily fixed up with your /ban command. 2.Unless you don't include the SRC folder and the .vbp/.vbw or anything not required to run the game, you cannot rip. 3.I can't understand you. @cutlaska: > I would really enjoy being able to just have a pre-maid engine and work off of it for free but i have high expectations to make this game as good as a possibly can with what i have to work with. > > And please try not to be bias when answering this. Am i better off using eclipse or shelling out money to have a custom engine made for my game, and if so where do i start looking to have that done? Naw. I don't think anyone will give you an engine that is not for public usage. That's gonna be giving the coder wads of cash.(Unless he works for free, which is unusual.)
  14. Bloodmorphed, get that server online, I won't be able to make the updates xD

    IP

@DPinoy13: > u should have followed my tut :D This has nothing to do with your tut. -.- Anyways, glad you fixed it.
  16. Since we are not in such a critical state anymore and our team is now huge enough to create the game, I would like to see a sample of a map. Your hired as a tester, but not yet as a mapper.
  17. Yes,not yet. I haven't finished shop and bank yet, and you know it'll look crappy if I release unfinished GUI.
  18. Thanks, I'm finished with the frmMain's picture, gonna upload it… I've been working on shop and bank... I may remake the animated buttons... the pictures in there looks very crappy..
  19. **This guide 100% supports Version 2.0,but some parts may not work on outdated versions.** ________________________________________________________________________________ I would like to give credit to **Grimmnak**, who taught me how to do this, but I decided to share this to the community, because there seems to be no tutorial about this.By the end of the tutorial, you will have more/less animated buttons in-game. Everything is client-side,and of course, you need **Visual Basic 6(Enterprise/Professional)**. 1.Open up your **"client.vbp"**. 2.Open up **ModConstants** and search for: ``` ' animated buttons Public Const MAX_MENUBUTTONS As Long = 4 Public Const MAX_MAINBUTTONS As Long = 6 Public Const MENUBUTTON_PATH As String = "\Data Files\graphics\gui\menu\buttons\" Public Const MAINBUTTON_PATH As String = "\Data Files\graphics\gui\main\buttons\" ```3.Change this to the number of animated buttons you want: ``` Public Const MAX_MAINBUTTONS As Long = 6 ```4.Open up **ModGeneral** and search for: ``` ' main - party With MainButton(6) .fileName = "party" .state = 0 ' normal End With ```5.**(You can obviously change "changeme" and you can change "MainButton(7)" to another number)** Add this below it: ``` ' main - changeme With MainButton(7) .fileName = "changeme" .state = 0 ' normal End With ```6.Open up **frmMain** and make a picturebox with these properties: >! **(These properties are requirements for the 7th button.)** Name:imgButton Index:7 (These properties are recommendations for the 7th button.) Height:29 Width:69 Top:168 Left:603 7.Make a new picture in: ``` data files\graphics\gui\main\buttons ``` And name it: (Once again, changeme could obviously be changed. It follows the one here: ``` .fileName = "changeme" ```"changeme_norm" - This will be the normal status of the button. "changeme_hover" - This will be the hovered status of the button. "changeme_click" - This will be the clicked status of the button. 8.Test it, it should work now! If it doesn't appear, hover a little over the skills button! (If you followed the recommendations for the picturebox, it will appear.) (The unappearing button when logged in can be fixed easily by adding a picture of the button on your main.jpg.) ________________________________________________________________________________ Glad to help out,if you get any issues on this, leave me a PM. Once again,I will say,I give alot of credit to **Grimmnak**.

    Port forwarding?

Hm? You can do that by yourself. (Unless your router is retarded and really won't work, like mine.) [Here's the long guide by Robin, lots of details, used by lots.](http://www.touchofdeathforums.com/smf/index.php/topic,68370.0.html) [Here's the simple guide by DPinoy13, easy to follow.](http://www.touchofdeathforums.com/smf/index.php/topic,71563.0.html)

    Visual Basic 6

Use Visual Basic 6 Enterprise/Professional, the portable version won't work. [This could might answer your question too.](http://www.touchofdeathforums.com/smf/index.php/topic,61053.0.html)
  22. @mea99: > I have used eclipse before Robin took over with Origins but I rarely posted on the forums. Me too. The template was so randomly weird I never bothered to visit anything in the forums/website, only the tutorials and the downloads. Welcome ;)
