  1. LMAO! That is a fail on my part once again…thanks again for the help! I will let you know how it goes
  2. Thats what I have been doing..let me do all the steps I have been doing from the very start. Click on Stable's client….go to source...open up "frmmapeditor"....it pops up in VB....It the right corner box it shows Project 1...then underneight it it says forms...i click on forms and "frmmapeditor" drops down...I right click and hit "View code"....the code pops up...For the first search I have searched the entire code and for CURRENT project (Not module or anything else)...no results...if i type in public const in the current project; no results...even the words alone "Public" or "Const" come up with no results...no results for just 14 either...am I in the wrong file or something..? Like wtf is going on haha shoot me XD
  3. I have opened the code adn tried sarching for many different things for the first code ranging from "14" to just const and getting no results..i have tried copying and pasting pretty much the exact code, with no results…then taking some of it outfor m y search results so i am searching or things like "14" or "Tilesinsheets" but i am getting nothng with this code. I am using VB6 Enterprise edition and tried this with both Stable and 2.7 and not have any luck :( Faaaail on my part haha
  4. Wooow I am having so much difficulty with this…looks like i need more tutorials on this...but seriously i suck so much with this.. So I opened up frmmapeditor...then i view the code right? And find the publicconst in the first posting of the code Robin posted right? Someone help my noobish VB brain make sense of this. Again thanks for anyone helping, and sorry for this! haha ;)
  5. Thanks so much man! I am trying it now as we speak! I am kind of new with VB but I have been catching on and have been reading noob tuts on the subject..thanks a lot..I will give it a try and hopefully I succeed loool :)
  6. Hey thanks a lot robin for going out of your way to install vb andshow me how to do this
  7. Ahh brutal. This sounds very difficult and doesn't seem like it will happen haha…oh well thanks for thw replies...if anyone feels confident and complies the source for this map editor I have in mind then I will shower you In riches
  8. Haha yeah…first let me apologise id the following msg has tons id grammar and spelling errors....I'm typing this on my phone lol...but o guess in the end I want to mapeditor to be able to scroll horizontally just how it can scroll vertically....this would allow me to use my rips efficiently plus I would enjoy the editor more of it was that way. Right now the editor does not have the scroll bar and can only suppprt up to 256 Px bwfore getting cut off....If anyone can edit that part of the source I would be so grateful...
  9. Hmmm one example of a tileset I want to use is 2501x3648…and the mass majority of my tilesets are like this
  10. Oh btw I am using Eclipse Stable…I just installed VB6 today, and opened up frmmapeditor...Little too advanced for me right now, I am having a hard time reading it and trying to do manual adjustments..haha I need help from the pros! lol
  11. Yeah I just installed VB6 and am just messin around with it, not changing anything that is, just looking around, checking out the program. I think it would actually be easier to adjust the mapeditor and the reason I say this is because I am going to have several tiles that are over 256 px in width…I am ripping tiles from FF6 and after I mak my adjustments with the size of the rip, I beleve it would be easier instead of putting them into the mapeditor format...just to increase the tiles by quite a bit...the width of my tilesets at this point range from 2000-3000px...I am not even sure if the editor can handle it...however if it can...I think it would be easier to just change the source to a variable that makes the width extremly large instead of editing every tile set since there is about 20...Do you think it is possible to do something like that? I just thought it would probably be less work then adjusting tons of tilesets. Thank you once again for your quick reply :)
  12. Could somebody please help me out on how to change the width of a tileset. Currently most Elipse versions support tiles up to 256 px in width…I am looking for something much larger then that...how would I go about doing this...I am a noob, have only read source and scripting tutorials however I am learning slowly...reading them is getting less and less intimidating...could somebody please help me with increasing the tile size? Thanks in advance :)
  13. Hello people! Just ha a quick question and cannot find the answer from searching…but I am using 2.7, is there anyway (Without source modification) to increase a tileset larger then 256 px wide? It shows in the GFX folder that tile sets cannot exceed that limit? Is this true? Can it be changed at all? Thanks :)
  14. Very pointless. Religions like that are not birthright religions…meaning generally that the person in scientology is not raised in that religion like how most people part of major religions are. Therefor, when people join scientology it is their choice. They found something appealing about it and want to join. There is no need to protest any religious group, even if deemed as a cult. Freedoms and rights are granted for all, not just at times that seem convinient. At the same time, you have the power to protest on something you believe it. Just my two cents :)
  15. Hello! My name is Dave (Chiccora), I just joined the Eclipse community however ths is not the first project I have ever worked on. I used to have a Mirage Playerworld opened up about 7 years ago called Guardia, an online 2d game using the Mirage Playerworlds engine. Before and during that time aas well, I owned and operated a text based roleplaying game called Mystic Quest that was highly popular for many years. Guardia closed down mainly due to server host issues, and I finished off Mystic Quest because I was graduating high school and going to college. I am currently designing a project using Eclipse entitled "Final Fantasy: Shattered Ages". First thing is first, anyone willing to work on this MUST have no problem with fan games/tribute games (Many people in development communities either love or hate fan type games). I need someone to be a scripter for me (If yo would like to do more, feel free and ask and you can), and make specific features be possible in my game, I will get to those later. I am the only one working on this project right now, so far the only thin that is complete ae my sprites, tiles and items. about 95% of tiles and sprites are from Final Fantasy VI for SNES. This is not a sequel to any FF game, it is just using the same graphics set in it's own world with many FF elements. I am going to create a topic regarding my game in the "Work in Progress" section, however I want to wait till I finalize a few more things. I will give a broad basics for my game: This is going to be a roleplay AND a non-roleplay server. Meaning plyers can do either…However, roleplay is needed for cirtain features in the game...Now the game takes place in a regional based world where thereare four dominant kingdom. Each kingdom rules it's region. These kingdoms are dominant because the posses one of the four elemental crystals Fire, Water, Wind, Water). Each kingdom has pros and cons with their kingdoms> Players my choose to allign themselves with a kingdom and grow in the higher ranks. Roleplay comes into play with the story where local and global conflicts rise. A "newbie" could play, level up, grow in the community and eventally become an important figure in the kingdom (General, maybe even King). Players also have the ability to grow in wealth, every player starts of poor but can aquire funds through quests and trade but most importantly through skill jobs such as fishing. Players can complete jobs such as mining, smithing, fishing, alchemy, and more. Eventually, players can purchase property and even open up business' such as a store. Players start off by choosing one out of 4 classes...Once you pick a class, you will select a job...each class has 3 - 6 jobs you can choose from...for example the classes are Warrior of Fire, Warrior of Water, Warrior of Wind and Warrior of Earth. Lets sa you like the jobs listed for Warriors of Fire...you then go to an area and choose a class after reading a detailed description, the jobs for this specific class are Ninja, Black Mage, Dark Knight, Thief. After you pick the job you get to choose an avatar...each job has 2 - 5 different avatars to choose from. After that, you start in a neutral area, and begin your journey! The jobs are as follows: Knight, Dark Knight, Barbarian, Paladin, Ninja, Samurai, Monk, Thief, Blue Mage, White Mage, Black Mage, Red Mage, Summoner, Dragoon and Moogle. Quests will will be created, and some of these require a cirtain job requirement while others quests are needed to be done with a team. If you need anymore information PLEASE feel free to PM me, and I can provide you ith anything else you would like. Again, expect a W.I.P. post to be posted in the near future with all the details and screen shots. What can you do for me? I need a scripter, my talents are in storyline, gameplay, mapping nd organization…I need a scripter that is able to make some features come true (Since I fail at scripting). Some features I would like are combo systems, transportation (Airships, Chochobo, Boats, etc), advanced party systems...there are a few more but if you are intereste at all in this project, please PM me and we can discuss this further. I do thank you for reading this post, and I hope some talented Eclipsers can join this project! Thank you, Dave
  16. I was messing around with inputing the tiles in…I just stretched the map by double and cutting random parts into the my "tiles8.bmp" and when I have tested it out..so far so good..not as difficult as I thought it would be..it will be time consuming but at the same time it will not take as long as I thought it would. :) This is good news, so far I got all my sprites/big sprites graphics (About 150 GFX, all ripped though from Final Fantasy VI, Crono Trigger and Breath of Fire II), my item sheets all done (No paperdoll in this game though)...now with the Spriters Resource and messing with the maps, I will have all my graphics done pretty fast and will be on my way to creating this game :)
  17. Thanks! I have seen these before so I will most likely be using that site…I am just going to have to expand the images a bit so it fits well with the sprites and then make them into tiles...I have not messed around with the tile editor much yet, so it would be awesome if I could just copy and paste the images into their own tile set haha...somehow I doubt that's possible due to how large the maps are...haha damn my lazyness...thanks for the link again. :)
  18. Thanks for the reply! I am actually refering to the snes one although I believe both games have the same sets. Regardless though, I have snes tiles and all my sprites are from the snes version….so if you could provide me with a link here or in pm that would be wicked! Thanks again for your help...have not been in the eclipse community for very long but so far everyone here is helpful!
  19. lol thanks I found some inside tiles for a castle but thats about it…I think my best bet is probably to resize in game tiles to fit properly..havnt done it much in the past but i will try it out ad see how it works :)
  20. Haha trust me i have done some googling, and if i found what i needed I would not be posting. I have got two sheets from charas, and I am currently looking at the Spriters Resources, I would just need to do some resizing and editing with the tiles they have there. But if anyone has some FFVI tiles already, I would not mind taking them ;)
  21. OH NO! Not another FF fan game that will never leave the development stage! Well, lets chang that…I am working on a FF fan/tribute orpg...originally I was using the PW engine, and was using FFIV/V sprites and tiles...now that I am uing eclipse, I stepped it up a bit and am using FFIV graphics...I already have every single sprite covered, I am now looking for TILES! Can anyone direct me in the right place...so far I have tiles for a town and airship but I need more :) Please help! Thanks in advance!
  22. Hey guys, Sorry if this a noob question..but I have searched around and I cannot find much about this specific question.. Anyways, am I able to create a class and not have them be a starting class when creating a new character…I have a few basic classes but I want class changing early on..am I able to create a class and not have them be a start up class? Is this possible along with having these non start up classes to have magic and eqipment that is only able to be used by that class? Also would they show up in the editor under the class change attribute? Thanks for the help!
  23. Thanks Shade! I just checked it, and it was white, so i used the sophisticated program called MS paint and turned it black ;) Thanks for your help and the quick reply!!!
  24. Soo I am trying to figure this out.. I converted my game to 32x32 sprite size…I copied and pasted my old sprite sheet from an old Playerworlds game...the background is black on the sprite sheet; just like how it is black on the default eclipse sprite sheet...why is it that when I now turn on the client and play EVERY sprite is walking around with a black, square backround around them? Can someone please help me fix this problem?! Thanks in advance guys :)
