I believe if I made an isometric engine and used 2D lighting and shading, as well as particles it would look pretty amazing. Feel free to post opinions and explain which you'd prefer. That being said, the use of an isometric style system is a bit more limited than a flat grid. The entrance level is much higher with isometric because, well, someone learning the system can't rip RMXP or RMVX sprites and call it a day. SawQuart Posted October 3, 2012 Share Posted October 3, 2012 It's insanely hard to pull off. Features become hard to add and adding simple additions becomes a nightmare.
