Ranged Weapons?

Ok, i havnt been able to find any tutorials on it, but is there any way to add in a ranged weapon to your game? i can code some what with the tutorials given. And im not the best with pixel art but i could do a bow or two and some guns.

all i need to know is if there are any tutorials on how to make weapons ranged.
