> You may have heard of spam. No—it’s not the luncheon meat that comes in a can. We’re talking about Internet spam. Internet spam has several definitions. It is defined as electronic junk mail or junk newsgroup postings, or even unsolicited e-mail. This unsolicited e-mail is most likely some type of advertising or get-rich scheme, similar to the junk mail you or your family receive almost every day. With traditional junk mail, however, the people who send the mail pay a fee to distribute their materials.
>     Spam, in contrast, is similar to receiving a postage-due letter. Even though you don’t pay the postage as it arrives in your electronic mailbox, you are still paying for it indirectly. The charges are in the form of disk space, connect time, or even longdistance Net connections.
>     Spam is not illegal yet, but several groups are trying to stop it. Several states are attempting to pass laws banning the sending of unsolicited e-mail. You can limit spam in a number of ways. Several services exist to which you can submit a complaint orvreport about a spam provider. There are also many spam-blocking and filtering services, as well as services and programs that hide your e-mail address from potential spammers. Visit spam.abuse.net to learn more.

Ah. Quality education…I hate this class.

It's so basic. It pisses me off.
