Owen F
well SadScript is the current language for scripting, i learnt it from Squiddles tutorials, because they are really userfriendly. I think its being changed to Java for Solar Eclipse but, im not sure. I know its sourced in Java, so yeah… Umm its up to you, but no you dont learn it at TAFE :P

Admiral Refuge
So, you want to learn how to script, aye?The sadscript system, is VBScript. So if you learn vbscript, you'll learn sadscript.Learning C++ would be nice for when Solar Eclipse comes out, but the current scripting system has VB-sytnax, now C-syntax.Anyway, to learn scripting though, it's really a matter of reading tutorials and sort. Here are the tutorials I'd reccomend you read (have your main.txt out the whole time, practicing):http://www.touchofdeathforums.com/smf/index.php/topic,40682.0.htmlhttp://www.touchofdeathforums.com/smf/index.php/topic,40746.0.htmlhttp://www.touchofdeathforums.com/smf/index.php/topic,39867.0.htmlhttp://www.touchofdeathforums.com/smf/index.php/topic,42156.0.htmlThen, practice practice practice! Make random scripts, help answering questions in the Script Questions board (don't forget to ask questions yourself, as well!), and help other users in the Script Request. At first, you'll end up getting things wrong, and everyone will correct you, "No, that's not what you do, it's done this way", etc, but eventually you'll start to get pretty good.Read as many tutorials as you can, and actively have notepad or the Sadscript Editor (found in the Announcements board) up while you read the tutorials.Formalize yourself with the architecture of the Main.txt, and the Scripting Commands (also found in Announcements), and eventually it will be second-nature, as it is for me
