StingRay200
Everytime I try to open the Project Vertigo server I get the same Run-time error everytime. The Run-time error is:-2147024770(8007007e) - The specified module could not be foundI looked in the Bugs and Errors Board and downloaded the latest version of DirectX, and downloaded the other to .dll files, but when I drag them to the system32 file, it asks me if I want to replace the original file which is the exact same as the one I downloaded. It didn't used to be like that, I think I did something, but I don't know what…

Install ELI using [>>50015](http://www.touchofdeathforums.com/smf/index.php/topic,50015.0.html) or [>>50010](http://www.touchofdeathforums.com/smf/index.php/topic,50010.0.html) in case you're on Windows 95, 98, ME, NT, 2000, 2003 Server Edition or XP. If that doesn't work you'll most likely need COMSocketServer.dll which you can find in the Bugs & Errors Guide and you'll also have to register it. If that doesn't work, contact MrMiguu and ask him if he added some random dependency to the Server.Regards, Godlord.

StingRay200
Oh? I'll try it.
Godlord
@Mellowz:> But it's a DirectX error so just register the file 'dx7vb.dll'.Wtf? It's on the **server**. Why would the server ever use dx7vb.dll? If you didn't know, COMSocketServer.dll, which is actually used by the server unless somebody dropped IOCP, also causes that error.Regards, Godlord. StingRay200
Strange, if have COMSocketServer.dll in the system32 folder. As well as dx7vb.dll.Sigh.
Mellowz
Oh, thought he was talking about the client.Still, he might have the DX7 object referenced (it's closed source), so register dx7vb.dll.And just for the record, without COMSocketServer being registered, this error will raise.![](http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l80/Mellow972/comsocksrverr.jpg)
StingRay200
I have it, how do I register it?
Mellowz
Check out this topic:http://www.touchofdeathforums.com/smf/index.php/topic,50745.msg529907.html#msg529907Make sure you register all of the DLL and OCX files found in the Client\Data folder, most preferably dx7vb.dll and COMSocketServer.dll. Godlord
> And just for the record, without COMSocketServer being registered, this error will raise.Weird, I tested it on several computers and I get -2147024770 (8007007e) when COMSocketServer.dll isn't registered :icon_nif:.Regards, Godlord. StingRay200
No, it WAS COMSocketServer that wasn't registered. Thanks, Goddie.
