If you already know any programming modern language or any fairly old ones then you can probably just use Google to learn. Searching for stuff will help you in a instant. If you know VB6 or C# or C++ or Purebasic or Real Basic etc etc things will be really easy. You can also check out the Boston Tutorials for a basic java port from those languages. You don't need to go through the entire series if you don't want to.

After that check out some more complicated stuff. I checked out Cherno's Game Programming for more advanced stuff. After you think you're good enough with the basics you can just Google how to do certain stuff and you'll learn along the way.
