[EO]Items on ground

Hope this is the right place, kind of an odd question.

So when players drop items via death or because they just dont want it, or items arent picked up, they get deleted after a while. I beleive its 3 minutes with no one on the map.

Would it be a bad thing to extend at least some items indefinately?

In EO there is a rarity value for items.
I plan on going from basic to unique.
Basic items could follow the 3 minute rule, but would it be bad to increase the timer as rarity increases?

Basic-3 minutes
Perfect-3 hours
Unique-3 days(or better yet, forever???)

I can think of a couple different ways to keep an item's location saved, but I dont know what kind of stress that would put on the server. I do mena ALOT of unique items though… lets say 100 just to be sure?

lol i think its better the other way round

basic 3 days( or forever)
perfect - 3 hours
unique - 3 minutes

since unique is more special it should be the shortest

its just a idea though its your choice xD

No that is a very bad idea as Basic items are the majority of drops and a unique item is the only one of its kind.

Now can someone with an in-depth knowledge of the engines reply? preferably Robin since I am using EO :)
