A couple of newbie questions

I just started using Eclipse a few days back and I've got a few questions about the engine.

* When I put a skill point in Magic, I gain more Speed and vice versa. Is there any way to correct this?
* Does anyone know the equation for strength/defense and speed calculations?
* Ingame, how do you cast spells?

the speed and magic is a known bug, damian will eventually fix it on eclipse stable
there's also fixes for that around the forum, look around a bit

and for teh spells…you have to make a spell, get the spellbook in your inventory, learn the spell with it, go into your spells and click it, chose a target and press insert

for the 2nd question, i'm not that sure what you mean and i probably don't know it either
