aaaron
OK, so I portforwarded, the server is online when I check it, and now when I go to open the game, it won't connect to the server and I cannot login. What's wrong now?
Keebler Elf
Is the right ip added into the client?
aaaron
Yes. The ip from ipchicken.com.I go to the server status checker on here and it says Online.
Keebler Elf
Can other people connect to your server? Perhaps your client is being blocked by some sort of firewall, even though you unblocked the server.
Exvayate
When you portforward you use the IP that is shown on your Server WINDOW not your IPchicken address… IPchicken shows you your external IP address. Now after you portforward using the correct IP, you want to edit the config.ini of your game and use the EXTERNAL IP as the IP for it.Then distribute the game and other players should be able to connect to your server on your PC. aaaron
Yea, that's what I did. It won't let me connect to the server when I login though.
Celsius
Sigh. IP Chicken is not your computers address.Go to your CMD. Make sure to run it as an administrator.Type "ipconfig" without quotation marks. Your machines IP is in that long list. Scroll down a bit.I feel weird only being 16 telling people how to use a computer xD
aaaron
Ok, so on congif.ini, it should look like this right?[Options]Username=AaronPassword=SavePass= 1IP=[MY IP ADDRESS FROM IPCHICKEN.COM]Port= 7001MenuMusic=totoro.midMusic= 1Sound= 1Debug= 0Then on the Portforward, it's the image up there. I go to the server status checker, it says Online. When **I** go and try to login to the game, it says the server is offline.
Celsius
Change the games IP and your login IP to whatever is in your CMD under IPConfig.

aaaron
Ok. So, the config.ini IP should be 192.168.2.4?

Celsius
If that's what your CMD has listed, then yes.
Exvayate
On your config.ini should have the IP from IPchicken.com…However for players to get online, you need to port forward your server. When you port forward you have to use the IP address found from using cmd and ipconfig. aaaron
@Robin:> No…Then why can't I get into my game with that IP. It says on the server I connect with a different IP.And @Exvayate, I did.
Exvayate
You know what would help? Screenshots fool! :PGive us screens of what you have done to try and connect.A problem that could occur is that your IP the you port forward for your server will change EVERYTIME you access the internet. So I suggest that you get a static IP address… Google is your friend. aaaron
Virtual Servers Screenshot:![](http://www.freemmorpgmaker.com/files/imagehost/pics/936b276cbbf0358c555b58873822cfae.png)But the 10 is really a 4.And config.ini:![](http://www.freemmorpgmaker.com/files/imagehost/pics/18d14fce5437cfccb9f28f1f278deca9.png)I know local host doesn't go there, I just don't have my IP there. Exvayate
I'm going to assume that your server isn't static.Alright, so after that just plug in your external IP where 'localhost' is and distribute it. Other players should be able to connect. However you can't connect to your server if config.ini has the external IP and not local host.
Robin
What the hell is a virtual server and why are you using it?You need to be running the server on your computer and you need to be forwarding your router's port 7001 to your computer.Stop overcomplicating things or you'll just fuck up.
