azure
As the title explains I'm helping a friend who wants to buy a new computer so that they can get into video editing more. In this area my computer is pretty low end so I need some advice on what kind of card to recommend to them, or should worse come to worse for me, what kind of card I should keep an eye out for. Godlord
Most, if not all, modern gaming computers can be used for video editing (cfr. my father who does video editing on the exact same (well almost) machine configuration as I have). My configuration is as following:* AMD Athlon II 4X 640 3.0GHz.* 4 GiB DDR3 1600MHz OCZ RAM (2x2 GiB; forgot the latencies).* ATI Radeon HD5770 VaporX with 1 GiB GDDR5 VRAM.* ASUSTeK M4A79XTD EVO (my father has another variant though, something with an IEEE-1334 slot).* Samsung 500 GiB HD 7200rpm SATA II (anything 7200rpm or better is fine; avoid solid-state drives).* 2x LG DVD-RW drive (my father has a blu-ray RW drive and a LG DVD-RW drive instead).I also have an USB 3 PCIe card, an Creative X-Fi PCI card, etc. but those are completely optional.Regards, Stephan. azure
Thank you so much Stephan. I believe I've found something that should be reasonable for her needs.
