Robin Posted July 11, 2011 Share Posted July 11, 2011 This has nothing to do with Windows 7\. The same has been true since the dawn of time. Hell, renaming file extensions in Windows 3.1 still didn't change the file format.File format has _always_ been completely different from file extension.
