  1. @Braiton:

    > Runescape is Too. If you noticed, if you select that your age is under 13 it wont let you join. But most lie, just like in WoW. What im trying to say is that no game is a Kid-Game or Mature-Game. Both Runescape and WoW have a varied range of audiences playing - from kids to adults. I even seen a 76 year old man playing Runescape.

But because of the fact that WoW askes a monthly fee an runescape is free, it is normal the age of the average runescape player is much younger than the average WoW player…

Ow, and people, plz do not compare WoW with Runescape! It's like comparing the universe with the tip of my little toe!
  2. Your right, you did aprove in pixeling (a bit  :P)
And it's also true; i've seen the rmxp tileset like a thousand times. But be honest, going for a good game improves your "creation skills" ALOT more then going for a… bad(?) game!
  3. @Yakura:

    > The mapping terrible.. Dude.. Didn't you learned anything about it? It is the meaning to make it terrible .  And it is really untrue about the art thing, it gives you the idea how to avoid making it like that.  :azn:

Agree, but then don't say it is "skill improving" _(except for the scripting, perhaps :azn:)_ making bad games…
  4. @Admiral:

    > Interesting concept; rather then "competition", those above games could be designed under one group.

Those kind of games should never be designed… A loss of time for the "creators" as well as the players!

    > Welcome to Eclipse newbie. This is how it goes. Be prepared for the flames. And nice trolling on me and not Hippo or others :)

Lol; so now you are the one representing eclipse?
Haha, i think you are wrong, pple like you are the ones giving a bad name to eclipse…

But hey, just keep on flaming, but before you call me a noob; read board rules first
  6. @The:

    > You are kidding me right? Its terrible… what can you do to it? Delete, burn it what ever it takes. Look at some tutorials.

Omfg, who the hell are you to put it this way? Agreed, it's a unique sprite, which some will like and some won't! But stupid discouraging messages as this one are just… wrong!

Look at the previous posts if you don't know how to interact with pple... But again... This kind of comment is just wrong!

    > Well, if it wasn't six AM, and if I wasn't half-asleep, I'd try replying to this; either way, Anna should reply in abit.

No, i did not… Maybe this is because i'm quite new to the eclipse community and i am not quite active (yet) in a whole lot of forums?  :azn:

To Anna Comnena: Nice answer :)
I rly do understand why you pinned this rule, believe me, but can you blame me for questioning it? ;)

    > LEARN TO SPELL!
    > duck OFF!
    > INTERNET EXPLORE 8.0 FTW,
    > nuff said.
    > PS: Brace for an onslaught of Anna Comnena.

Haha, agreed, in this case i think eclipse should hire a nanny to get the kids to behave, because this kind of "arguements" can only be described as childish.

And i didn't mean to offense Anna Comnena, but if you want to change rules on a debate forum, be correct, specific and prepared on reactions  :azn:
  9. @Anna:

    > If you start a post, you must submit an argument about the topic subject. That is what a debate is, an exchange of arguments about a certain subject. Too many threads here lately just throw out some pseudoscience or some hot topic and just say "what do you all think of this?" – without posting an argument.
    >
    > That's not a debate. You want to start a debate, post some arguments to support your viewpoint, or the viewpoint you are arguing for (it's often good in debate to be a "devil's advocate" and try to argue a side you might be personally against).

I would have to disagree with some parts of this statement! Let's start of with the defenition af "a debate":

_argue with one another; "We debated the question of abortion"; "John debated Mary"
consider: think about carefully; weigh; "They considered the possibility of a strike"; "Turn the proposal over in your mind"
discuss the pros and cons of an issue
argument: a discussion in which reasons are advanced for and against some proposition or proposal; "the argument over foreign aid goes on and on"
argue: have an argument about something
the formal presentation of a stated proposition and the opposition to it (usually followed by a vote)

    **source of defenition: wordnet.princeton.edu/perl/webwn**_

I agree when you say "debate is an exchange of arguement", but why not start a debate with just a single question? What's so wrong with this way of opening a debate? Even better: why not let the one who gives the opening question be the "neutral conversation leader", who guides the debate and makes sure it doesn't get out of hand?

Secondly, you say "_Also: a debate is not
    Personal Preference VS Personal Preference_"

A debate should be about opinions, that is correct. But isn't your personal preference one of the biggest influences creating your opinion? A debate is about expanding your mind, exchanging ideas… So why not debate about a preference? If i say i like Firefox alot more then any other browser, i'm pretty sure i will get reaction. And once someone reacts; he will tell me why he likes another browser more than Firefox; and that's when a debate starts...
  10. @Keebler:

    > I do not believe that people have made a all in one whole world editor. If there is though it would most likely be in recources. The thing is most people dont complain about how they must map. It really isent that hard to map on section at a time.

Yes indeed, not a lot of pple complain about it… But it's also a fact that not a lot of pple succeed in making a decent map... :P

Thx Admiral Refuge, that's all i wanted to know; hope it will come out soon  ;)
  11. @Keebler:

    > Do you mean because you can only see that one section of the map and not the whole world when mapping?

Yes indeed. Only this way you can see if you've succeeded in your "mapping-puzzle", and if your world uses enough variation. Looking at your map an world from a "bird perspective" would make it all alot more easy, and for the "rough editing" (=non-detailed) you could map from a 20% - 50% perspective.
  12. Is there a possibility to edit maps without being in the client as player? Its quite chaotic to make decent maps this way, because of the fact that you can't zoom out you lose a lot of the mapping overview; or is this just my opinion?
