  2. So far I like everything!

    I just have one concern : The npc vs npc thing might make it so all the npc are busy killing themselves so much that it might interfere with the Player vs npc combat.In the picture its like theres a huge horde of npcs slaughtering themselves , maybe you should add something that won't let npc vs npc fight get too crowded so the player wont be frustrated.Just a thought , I could be wrong

    Aside from that , I'm really liking it!Especially the fact that you said its pretty story-driven!! :D

Oh my god.I wrote a ducking huge wall of text then I closed the fochin browser and lost it.I'll try to be quick!If you are concerned about your old stuff being flat and plastic , making a tree with random lines on its brush doesn't really help it.Also the way you are dithering  the other tiles makes them seem boring in my opinion.Generally when I'm dithering I use random shapes to make it less boring.I made this little mockup to show you what I mean , excuse me for not making the grass parts I'll edit it as soon as I'm done with it.In all honesty I've always been a fan of your game but the way you are trying to make the tiles makes it very unappealing for my eyes.Go back to your old style but make some improvements!Work on your color ramp , practice making different kinds of textures and I'm pretty sure you will make something even more appealing then your old stuff!I'm sorry if I seemed like a dork I'm just trying to give some C&C , If you need any help or don't get what the hell I'm saying I'm all ears.

It's been such a long time since this started!Looking forward to play it!Edit: Also I agree with what people been saying about the tiles.its 3am right now so I can't really draw anything to show what I mean but tomorrow I'll make a sketch to show you what I mean.you can make simple tiles but the way you are making ten is just chaotic and weird.

    Sorry for not being able to give actual c and c but I'll do that tomorrow!

    Second edit:are you planning on using that background?
  7. I have some tips for you,

    Try to use a small amount of colors with high contrast.I made a tree with 4 colors for the leaves and 4 for the trunk , but there was a lot of contrast between then.That adds depth.

    Choose a light source and stick with it.It seems like you chose a top light I can see it on the leaves but I didnt feel that on the trunk.

    I know you probably want this style but in my opinion , if you make it bigger you can add more detail!

    I haven't finished up the second tree yet thats why there arent many leaves.Think of it as a wip.I didnt sketch up all of the leaves part because I did that like 3am and I was reaaaaaallly tired:C
  12. Its been a while but I'm working on these tiles.I've just put together up some tiles and made a simple map , so here it goes , feel free to give me any advice.
