    [EO 1.3] Fps <= 7

    @Robin: > /fpslock > > How was that stereotypical at all? Are Russians well known for having slow computers? No. Go read up on the word before throwing it around like a moron. > > So far the only people I've had report this problem are a handful of Brazilians and if I take this bloke's word for it a handful of Russians as well. > > Having 50fps on 1.1.0 is pretty dire as well actually, considering most people report an FPS around 800\. Suggesting that people use horrifically outdated, buggy and unsupported software just because of a couple of problems is not a valid point and I'm sick and tired of you making it. If you've got nothing useful to add to the discussion then bugger off. Firstly, I've seen about… 5 people report an FPS over 500 and they're almost all the devs. You're completely rude and disrespectful in everything you say, I have a quad core 4GB Ram, NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 470 2.8GHz cpu Windows 7 PC. My FPS changes DRAMATICALLY just for adding a layer of grass on it. I go from about 90FPS to 20-30fps. Yes that is a big issue. If you have no respect for others ROBIN, then don't reply because all you're doing right now is being a major jackass. This is suppose to be a friendly/helpful community and all I see here is you talking down to others as if you are high and mighty. EO is a TERRIBLE setup because of FPS, we understand that and 7FPS is NORMAL for this engine. I use Devo's engine and My FPS has not dropped under 145 and that's with a fully loaded map, loading the map, AND several animated images on the map with music and changing the daytime in game from day to night, I still have the same FPS within a 5fps difference. So again Robin.. I see that you're a "Developer" on here, But if you're that good, Why not make a new engine in which the FPS isn't such a downfall? I don't see the reason for talking down to users that add input to this site with questions such as "Why does my fps drop so badly" Playing WOW I have better FPS than this. And that is an EXTREMELY graphic game with all settings on ultra. I don't really like WOW but my FPS is better than what I get with the EO engine, hence the reason I don't use it currently. When you have something NICE or polite to say, LEMME KNOW. But until then, please refrain from being a dick just because you think you're high and mighty to us users that do not develop code.
  2. @Robin: > Backup your source code before editing stuff. > > As for the problem, I think Helladen reported something like this and posted a fix. Never come across this error myself. I tried his fix, it was already put into your code.
  3. I'm getting a runtime error 9 in my game, I've only added a few custom mods to the server and they're all in http://www.touchofdeathforums.com/smf/index.php/topic,63215.0.html that thread. Everytime i try to connect with ANY client (Stock or customized) it gives me the runtime error. When i click DEBUG, it links me directly to this: For i = 0 To ResourceCache(GetPlayerMap(Index)).Resource_Count It's in modPlayer in the Server side. I've looked for fixes on this site and I found one edit that fixes them usually… The issue is... I have tried them and they don't work. The fix is already put into this script. The full code in the SERVER Side where the error COMES FROM is: ' Send Resource cache For i = 0 To ResourceCache(GetPlayerMap(Index)).Resource_Count SendResourceCacheTo Index, i Next Any help would be greatly appreciated, I really don't want to recode everything back into this again... I screwed it up bad enough that I had to do that once with the Clientside and it was all because of 1 little mistake i didn't realize i made.
  4. Kinda sucks I was hoping to save up and buy some of those sometime in january.
  5. 1\. Yes I have, i even tried winzip (Full version) and 7-zip. 2\. We've done everything in the windows 7 thing, me and 3 others are running win 7 x64 so we've figured out the order and files we needed etc. 3\. the files break during ZIP/COMPRESSION. I know this because the folder goes from 112MB to 10-12MB total. there is no REAL way to compress it that much (100 mb removed during compression) with the music files and such in there. Thanks for the reply and tips/suggestions. And the site i was uploading to is mediafire, I can post a link for you if you'd like. it's a DEFAULT/STOCK client file but it doesn't work.
  6. i'd really love an open source copy of origins but open source copy of stable would be just as wonderful. Thanks in advance to anyone that can fix any of my issues. (OH YEAH ANOTHER QUESTION, Mine randomly goes blank screen and I have to close it to see the game again (by reopening it) any idea what could cause this? I'm running Windows 7 x64bit but I've got all the files etc on here… ee 2.7 never did that to me, but stable does. That's why I want an open source copy if possible of the stable release.)
  7. @HunterXero: > hmmm… have you tried WinRar ? idk much about this stuff but I think you should try it Thanks for replying, I've tried winrar and Winzip. I'm gonna try 7-zip right now. If it works I'll update this thread but if not I'll just keep waiting for some help. OH YEAH ANOTHER QUESTION, Mine randomly goes blank screen and i have to close it to see the game again (by reopening it) any idea what could cause this? 8. All library files installed and ELI's and such we've tried EVERY FILE installation possible. That wouldn't make a difference considering it's not zipping properly. when they download the stable release from here it works PERFECTLY.
  9. So here is the situation. I am running a serverside on my computer until we get our maps and quests and stuff alotted. After that I'm going to purchase a server (many moons down the road) to host it on. I'm using Eclipse Stable, in case it was a question to come. I'm trying to find out 2 things… My client file is about 112MB size (DEFAULT) as it is the default/stock client folder. When I zip the folder to send to my website for members to download, it will not work. It zips into about 12MB, and people get errors saying some of the files in the data folder are missing like the zlib.dll or ocx or whatever... Is there a fix for this? Also, Is there an open source version of stable around by chance?
  10. To port forward you need to find out your routers ip (Ex. 192.168.1.1 OR 192.168.0.1) login to that via Firefox/IE and if it asks for user/pass it's DEFAULT is (NO USERNAME) and password is admin If it is linksys for your router go to GAMES & APPLICATIONS, go to the port forwarding tab and forward port 3999-4001 (PROTOCOL = BOTH) to 192.168.1\. (YOUR IP) To find out your ip go to start and run on xp or just the search bar on vista and type CMD. In the new command prompt popup type in this "ipconfig /flushdns" WITHOUT QUOTES and exactly like that. Your ip will be 192.168.1.100-255 (Usually 100-105). In the router settings change the ip in the port forwarding section to the one that matches yours and enable it and scroll down to save settings, then try again. Anymore questions about this just ask.
  11. Are you getting any errors or anything? Does it SAY it's online even though nobody can connect?
  12. it's going to be just like inside a normal building but i was lookin for tent style instead of hard walls etc. not just a faded tent where u see urself in it.
  13. yeah but what about wall style so it doesn't look so… 100% floor? I like making it look somewhat decent. lol.
