How to make events such as those in rpg maker 95,2k,xp,etc?

Hi, I'm new to the world of Eclipse and I was wondering how to make an event, like when a player completes a task, another event or something else occurs, similar to the events in other game makers such as the rpg maker xp and 2k. Any help would be much apperiacted.
