  1. Get Photoshop CS2 Pirated from the PirateBay, I think it is much better than GIMP.

    Just go into the layer and then go to the color overlay option, set as color:

  2. Waiting for a response from Warconn at the minute, to answer some stuff about the engine.

    Few more new details I've added to the main post:

    - There WILL be more than one planet soon enough. I will do chapters of the story which take us to different locations. Atlas is my next planned planet.
    - There is a Ranks and drop map going up.
    - I am creating a Map of all of the locations in the game.
    - I have re-vamped the Main Menu, which I will also show soon.

    It would basically be a one off job. You do the Tileset, I give you items, GM status e.t.c in Final Ignition.

  4. Yeah, sorry for making that unclear.

    Thanks to Warconn for completing that part of the engine. I am pulling together the final touches on our website, making a tileset currently, only basic at the minute, and am going to modify the GUIs a bit, to make them nicer. I have other sprites, but feel to keep them to me and the team for the minute, until we get to the stable point of having a nice engine. THEN I feel we can release screens e.t.c.

    I'm not QUITE sure of when we should get the server set up ready for the game, because I can do it at any time soon, but I'd like you guys' say. I may even have one maybe even two servers.

    BTW, release year IS 2010, but I cannot be sure WHEN the hell we'll release the first build. It could be VERY soon, but at the same time, VERY late. It is hard to tell, but from my point of view, everything is coming together nicely.
  5. Zealots are basically the gold plated elites. They are the highest ranking standard class elites. They usually carry energy swords. They are just below Special Ops elites, and the councilors.

    I can't even spell the brute name.. But I know what it is.

    They all have alien names.. But those are the human ones "Elite", "Grunt" e.t.c. Buggers is my favourite, for Drones xD.
  6. Well. I came up with the idea to make some case art for Final Ignition. Then I came up with the thought "Hey, why don't we rate the games?". Basically, I'm suggesting we rate all dedicated games with a category.

    For instance:

    3+ (Child) - Very mild violence, NO adult content
    7+ (Junior) - Mild Cartoon Violence, NO adult content
    13+ (Teen) - Mild Violence, Mild Language, No sexual or drug related content
    16+ (Mature) - Bloody Violence, Mild to medium language, Mild sexual content, No Drug related content
    18+ (Adult) - Gory Bloody violence, Heavy language, Medium to Heavy Sexual Content, Drug related content

    Eclipse Ratings Community.

    Most professional games have ratings, either by PEGI or the ESRB or some other ratings. It informs the player of it's content. This is just a suggestion for those that want to do it, and could come under "Game Reviews".

    There could also be an Eclipse Game case, a template for people to put their cover art onto, with the rating in the corner.

  7. YAY! You're not actually gone. Warconn has taken over the engine for the minute, and now I'm confused, because I have 2 engines, because I thought you were gone. Ok. My thoughts about your ideas:

    No chief, unoriginal.

    Coloured Hunters, I already have them on my sprite list. They are one of the last two bipeds to create, well 3\. I have to make drones too. There will be different weapons for them also.

    Engineers.. Would have been freed I believe. Veronica obviously liked the thing xD.

    Vehicles, were suggested already, hard to do, but if you REALLY want them, I could sprite them.

    That "Firefight" mode sounds K, but really, we should focus on the main modes right now. I'll give you and Warconn a list, and you can split it?

    Ok, I'll PM this too;

    -Fox

    * All gametypes - Slayer, Team Slayer, Assault, CTF, Firefight
    * Weapons - I need to be able to modify the distance of the round, position of where it fires, and need to be able to put a spell animation over the top, along with a sound, from a choice of folder.
    * Profiles - Needs player picture, front only, Rank (I would like to incorporate the ranks from H3, basically, picture ranks, Name at the top and Location (If possible, basically, map name).

    * Quest system, renamed to mission system
    * Send me and fox a copy of the current engine..
    So.. I'll send those things to you two. I hope you DO complete these things, because I am wishing for the engine to make tests on now..

  8. Ok. What I'm looking for is a code that will create a spell animation over the front of guns in the game, so that I can implement different muzzle flashes and effects. It also needs to incorporate sounds which can be set to a certain folder. The code needs to be able to incorporate all the new weapons I add.

    If you complete this for me, I will have no problem with adding credit to the credits, and giving you a special item when the game is up.

  9. Sam, if you ARE serious about this, I can show you some sprites. I don't want to go through sending all the sets if you are going to give up. They are only sidescroller though, Project Vertigo only. I was thinking about using them, but wanted unique graphics. Pretty much no people on the net have ever used them, because they are part of a Halo Fan Game, Halo: OWAW, made with gamemaker. The kit is called "New Rayg" and would supply you with, backgrounds, floors, objects, characters and more. It is THE most complete sprite resource for halo on the net.

    Only thing is, you'd have to ask permission if you are serious about this. They are REALLY good sprites, and many people have put work into them. I decided not to use Vertigo, because I personally think, a Sidescrolling MMO is a bit… Limited. You can go through warps, but then again, you're going in a straight line. Also, you'd need a lot of edits from Miguu if you wanted to use it (I spell that right? Sorry if I didn't).

    That is some advice there :P

  10. I got ODST. My overall thoughts:

    Campaign - The city, was beautiful, I wanted it to be an MMO xD, but unfortunately, I cannot say the same for the storyline. It felt… Repetitive, and not very interesting. It didn't have the epicness of the last few levels of H3\. I did like the gameplay, creeping up on brutes, hitting them down, taking the weapons e.t.c. But overall, it was.. Meh.

    Firefight - Firefight, was the best thing about the game IMO. It is a fun, bash up match game, not a 5 minute job, but I don't think it is hell of a lot of fun on your own.

    Theater - Same as in H3.

    So, Overall:

    Campaign - 3.5
    Firefight - 4.5
    Theater - 4.5

    I give it a rating of about 4/5

    The multiplayer disk was pointless, although nice to have considering my H3 disc got scratched.
  11. There are no Halo tilesets. My game is Halo: Final Ignition. You have to make sprite AND tilesets yourself. I know a community that makes Halo sprites and they have completed a sidescroller kit, but no RPG. You'll have to make them yourself.. That's what I've done.

    I'd also say you need more information, a PROPER storyline, characters, e.t.c. I have a feeling this is going to turn out another fan-boy failure, no offense. Good luck though ;)
  12. It's called cartoon style, ever heard of it? Although it may not be terribly obvious, the elites had to be made on about the same scale as the Spartans and marines to make sure the weapons fitted in the right place in their hands. However, for enemies, I don't have to worry, as you will see when I post the next set of sprites. Don't want to be harsh, but it's all there for a reason. And I am aware that the elite's arms aren't EXACTLY in proportion with the Spartans', but it is well placed enough.

    And Bone, it doesn't really matter. He sent me a PM.

    I have had someone through about the Machinima, and am hoping to have the next batch of sprites completed within the next few days, so hope to hear more about BOTH of them. Warconn is also working on some stuff too.
