Log in, and your character's name will appear. Highlight your characters name (on the Players tab) and click the button that says "Give Access". Give yourself the access of 5 and then press OK. See if that works.

What version of Eclipse are you using? Which tutorial did you use? Are you pressing F1 to make yourself an admin? What did you do to make yourself an admin?

Whats the scale? Like how big is a square inch? I draw my world maps in graph paper and treat each square as a map number. And then just fill it all out, write what each number is, and go from there.

Eh, even if they did have clouds, the engines camera (using RMXP tiles/sprites) gives the appearance that its only about 50 feet off of the ground, looking down at your character at an angle. If that makes any sense. (sorry about the long sentence) Since the camera seems only 50 feet away from your character, the clouds shouldnt even be in the view. My opinion, though, do what you like.

If those are clouds, i dont think thats a great idea to have. They look wayyy too low. And yeah i agree with Miguu, add something to the menu's.

Ok so, would you guys rather use the very limited, highly detailed Inquisitor's tileset? Or the almost unlimited, basic RMXP tileset? They both have pros and cons.. what would you guys prefer?

So i just read that we are going to have the ability to make huge scrolling maps. Are you guys gonna make it so that we can place more NPCs than the other versions? I dont wanna have a huge map with almost no NPCs on it.

Ok well i hit 1k posts (w00t) and decided to make one of these "woah i have 1k posts" topics. This story part is a bit long… so, skip if you like. About Robert James Buice (yes you guys now know my full name): Right now i'm 14 years old and joined Eclipse in September last year. At first I started out as a HUGE noob and didnt even know how to extract files or what it even meant. This forum is great at opening up and accepting new members. I really liked it here, so I decided to stick around. As time grew on I started to actually learn the basics of computers and what the difference between a .bmp and .jpg is. The concept of mapping really stuck out to me as I got past how to actually use eclipse. So I started showing off terrible maps that I made in 10 mins. Thanks to Soljah, Kreator, and many other of the good criticizers out there I actually started to get okay at it. I decided then to join a project, this was a turning point in my Eclipse Career. The head developer was Zach, I like to refer to him as "That Purple Guy". He was a great leader and taught me almost everything I know about mapping. But time flew by and before I knew it I couldn't map for his project. I thought that he would get mad at me but he was very kind about it and basically said "Okay, I understand, do what you want :)". I was very relieved and ready to move on with Eclipse. I then started on my very own project named Dark Settlement. Right now im not sure if it is going to be continued due to many reasons, but we wont get into that. BACK TO THE STORY: I made some (what random members consider) really cool maps. I then realized that it takes a whole lot more to a game then just to make good maps. It takes FEATURES that only a scripter could do. I cant really remember how to be honest but DG1423 joined DS as a scripter. He was great. He was very efficient and very active on the game. He could write a quest script in 5 minutes. I was amazed by his ability. Some things happened in RL so i decided to just stop mapping and just hang around the forums. I thought about quitting and even announced it but i realized that night that quitting would be pointless. So im here to stay guys. And then i reached the big 1,000\. :D LIVING PROOF RIGHT HERE GUYS. First: **Zach!** That Purple Guy is one of the kindest guys i have ever met. Even when i surprisingly quit his project he took it well. He was my first good friend on the forums and he means a lot to me. Go zach! **DG1423!** David is an ace scripter and knows his stuff. He always maintains a positive attitude even with things arent looking too good. He helped me stay here even when i was planning on straight up leaving. He helped me realize many things and always helped me when i need it. **Anna!** As strict as she can be, she keeps this forum in line. I really look up to her as a mod and respect her greatly. She is one of the few members here who can do almost everything about eclipse. Scripting, mapping, GFX, she can do it all. I really looked up to her when i joined and still do. **Gwen!** Gwen and i just actually started talking on forum games about a week ago and she has been a great deal of help to me when im stressed out. She is one of a kind. **Jetblack Angel!** Like Gwen, JBA and I have just recently started talking. But when we first did i could tell he was a great guy. He also helped me in my darkest time and even sent me a PM about my 1k. It meant a lot to me. JBA is a great eclipser and is one of my good friends. **Admiral Refuge!** Admiral is one of the nicest guys ive ever met. He always showed me support even when i was new. That helped me a lot in my early days. Thanks Admiral. **Kreator!** Ah Kreator, you were always my role model. I always loved your GFX work and personality, and you dont take crap from anyone. I always envied that about you. Your criticism helped me advance my mapping skills a lot. Thanks a lot man. **Soljah!** One of the best ever seen. He is one of the best map raters ive ever seen around here. If it wasnt for Soljah my maps would not be as good as they are now. Thanks a lot man. You always did inspire me to do better. **Bone!**I always loved your positive and always giving attitude. Even when Gadget came back you still said "Cmon guys give him a chance". You actually realize people can change and are always open for anything. I always wished i was as patient as you are. **Marsh!** Damn man, you really should be proud of yourself. How you manage this forum and still manage to keep it in line dazzles me. I can barely even describe how hard you must work to do all of that. Eclipse is like a 2nd home to me. Point is: I have me, and DG1423 that are going to test it.. but thats 2 people. I need 2 others who wanna go into the Range and just fight pretty much. We need to know how long it will take, and how hard the fights are. Please tell us your opinions on it. It will basically just be a fun little experience plus you have access to Dark Settlement Online during its developing stage. Requirements: Pretty much we need a Meatshield, a healer, and 2 damage dealers. You also need to have at least 2 hours of free time to test with us. Make sure that you dont have to leave. (it should be nowhere near 2 hours but you get my point) You must know the controls of an eclipse game, mainly how to cast healing spells. You must have some form of instant messanger, it has to be AIM or MSN. If your interested, post what your job would be (healer, DDer, or MS) and thats about it. We will accept anyone if you meet the requirements. Like i said, it will be a fun, neat experience and we will have a good time.

Ok so im gonna just gonna take a day off and make a mega tutorial that covors almost all the basics of Eclipse so we can reduce the nub questions and get on with the important stuff. The format is going to be a Q&A type thing, but i need to know some of the nub questions. So can you guys think of any other questions that aren't posted below? Q: Halp! Im brand noo here! I dun no what to doo! Q: How do i add my own sprites i found on the main site?? Q: How does paperdoll work? Q: How do i make shops?? Q: How do i make items, spells, all that stuff! Q: How do i make quests? Q: How do i make skills? Q: How do i make a currency?? Q: How do i fix RTE 339! I installed those files u were talking bout but it dont did not work! Q:How do I add music? Q:How do I make a guild? Q:How do I make other people staff? Q:How do I set up classes? What else can u guys think of? Even the most basic questions can help a noob.
