My part is complete, I'm still waiting on Tyr to finish the content; seriously taking forever! If it goes much longer I will take what he has and finish it myself. I'm very sorry for the lack of response for the past while, it has been frustrating waiting.

Last time I talked with Tyr, he was working on tilesets. Although at the time of posting this, I think they should all be done! Only a few days folks… -
Last major update to the engine posted. Still on course for the first week of july release date!

Small update, identifies aspects to the ability system. The system is complete, as soon as we get a full test run on it, we will move on.
Meanwhile I'm waiting on the player info GUI, and a currency prompt GUI. While I wait for those, I'll be starting on the DX8 driven sound engine.

Alright, so after a crazy amount of fixes previously listed (took them off cause it looked ugly), I've started on player trades! So that'll be coming your way shortly :)
Sorry again for the lack of updates recently, I've been really busy with work, organizing next year for university, and also working on the 10 billion fixes and tweaks that Tyr wrote out for me (a bit less than that, but i'd say around 50 in total :P).
Some new additions: NPCs now have a behaviour to ONLY attack other npcs. Also, a gold dropping attribute has been added, so that a random number between 0 and a max number inputed will be dropped by the npc, in addition to the usual loot that can be obtained. -
Conversation menus are now up!
Next update: Journey Logs/Player trades/Player Infos -
Hallo folks, I'm wondering if anyone has come in contact with some decent spell/ability icons that Aura: the Beginning may use. If you have not heard of us, well you have'nt been around long enough! (Heh, just kidding, we've been around a long, long time… Click the banner in my sig for the sub-board)

The above screenshot shows what the hotbar/feel of the game is like… So if anyone has some nice icons that have preferably no lisense on them... That'd be great. Please note; they will be used for the official first release of Aura, the open alpha.
If your not sure if the icons will fit the game or not, don't worry, any response would be much appreciated :P

Another small update… sadly not too much progress other than fixes this week.
Probably will work on... fixing NPC walk modifications, move onto autotile fix (probably a few seconds, just a number short or something :P), then a small quest fix.
At this point i'll probably make a new thread for the quest system, and show that off...
After that I'll be starting on the party system! -
Since i work on aura on my free time, there's no way to tell the day which it will be ready, but take a look at the todo list at the top, that gives a good background to how much is left. Also take into account some debugging time :)

Hey everyone, just made a few hotbars… and I was wondering which one I should go with. It'll be going towards Aura: the Beginning, so I've also added a screenshot of the current GUI. (Just so you can see what its going against)
Sadly my teammate in the matter is very busy, and I'm soloing. Anyways, comments would be greatly appreciated!
NOTE: The area between squares will be used for the casting time/reload time. (So no it was not a mistake to add 5px width at the end of the last square)

I got it down to just under 400$ CAD, including GFX card, PSU, 4GB 1066Mhz RAM, cheapo HD 4650, cheap Mobo, with a dual core 3Ghz CPU -
I work at extreme-pc… We build custom rigs, gaming or otherwise. Anyways, as previously stated the hard drive would definitely cut down the initial load time for a rig with high capacities of memory (yours with 800mbs would definitely be included in this) Currently if you have a 5400 rpm drive, consider upgrading to a 7200rpm drive, very noticeable improvements.
You didnt specify a graphics card, so I'll assume you are either using onboard, and/or with some PCI/PCI-E adapter for VGA/DVI
If your wanting to play at high resolution, with a smooth frame-rate, and you have a PCI-E slot on your current mobo, I recommend a Radeon HD4000 series (about 1-2 years old, but for the money to performance ratio, its great!) You can probably one on Kijiji used for an even more decent price.
My last recommendation for this would be to upgrade to a 4GB dual channel kit of RAM... depending on your motherboard however: If you are on DDR3 slots, go right ahead, if not however your going into out-of date technology, and it just won't be worth your while, DDR2 is more expensive and degrading in performance)
Anyways, i'll stop typing now, and let you decide where you want to go with this. What's your budget anyways? -
Aura has been put aside for some time (if you have not noticed the complete lack of activity…
Stijn (Tyr) has gone to university, and I have half-day school, half-day work schedule. So were both pretty busy.
However, weekends and any other time off will let us complete the final touches to this long and seemingly never ending developement cycle. I will post as soon as a noticible segment has been completed!
This has never been a rushed project, we are looking for outstanding quality and, well the final product is what we work for, however the process of getting there is half the fun! Again on the topic of time; I will come second semester will be out of school and working full time for the rest of the year, giving me more time than I currently have. Sorry to dissapoint whomever still even knows about this game, and if your just being introduced to it.
