  2. @Robin: > This is a problem in source questions as well. > > More than once I've had to go into a thread with several pages and post a fix, after reading through the 'Just dim the variable' or 'Add on error resume next'. I'll look into this.
  3. If you don't understand the question (meaning, it's too complex for you, not their lack of English), please don't reply. It derails topics and makes it extremely hard to follow through on things. For example, the answers… * Restart your computer. * Delete your map files. …are not solutions to all problems and I do *facepalm* every time I see it. Now, I know doing these kinds of things are the "debugging" process, but just about all problems in Eclipse have official answers. So please don't reply to topics if you don't know the answer. Thanks. (:
  4. @Avantium: > When what happens? It happens even on a closed server if im the only one playing, or if theres 3 people "trying" to play. Hi, can you please send me your server and client as-is, and I can debug it for you, or at least try to. It seems like everything is broken so it's hard to determine the real problem without real-time analysis.
  5. ``` Case "/givep" PlayerID = FindPlayer(TextSay(1)) If GetPlayerAccess(Index) = 0 Then Call PlayerMsg(Index, "You don't have enough rights to do this command!", RED) Else Call SetPlayerPOINTS(Index, GetPlayerPOINTS(Index) + 5) End If ```
  6. @Dark: > I'm not looking to change the image! I want to change the TEXT that scrolls, not the IMAGE. You'll have to add some labels to the picture box that's being scrolled up.
  7. However, this feature is hard-coded into Eclipse 2.8\. :)
  8. @Lena: > I was on the cleaning suplies aisle looking for fabreeze and I found it, but it was for the air. > And everything else was grouped by brand so I was like  "you suck Safeway" but while looking for something else like all the way on the other side across the way I found it for fabric. > > I wanted to re-organize Safeway. I work that aisle on midnights (like a hooker) and it's hard to keep the Tide on the shelf when it's on Ad.
  9. I don't know man… if you can't follow the tutorial, we can't really help you.
  10. @Tylian!: > That's the problem. I doubt I can be. :/ > > Blame addicting games. DX > > Hmm. Do you think I could get SVN access anyway? I'll peek around the source looking for optimizations when ever I have free time. :p I'm looking for active developers. ):
  11. @Tylian!: > I fit everything but the team part. :( > > Plus Mellowz probably doesn't trust me after last time. :p As long as you're active, Emblem.

  14. @MrMiguuâ„¢: > Well I only have the repeating damage blt code as far as implementing byte arrays goes. I have been re-writing systems ever since I can remember… I think, since I am up to my neck in AP homework this year, I will just stand back and watch. Thanks anyways. Alright. I also updated the requirements.
  15. @Back: > I've seen so many types of eclipses! Now I'm wondering which is the best XD > Solar Eclipse is java :azn: > Eclipse Evolution is …. (I don't really know..) > Eclipse Red is red > Eclipse Stable is stable (yay!) :azn: > Eclipse Noob is for noobs (yay!) XD > Flash Eclipse (hooray for flash!) > > Which is the best eclipse? > I would say SE but it hasn't come out yet so i say ES This is what happens when Marsh allows people to create their own versions of Eclipse and make them official. :P
  16. @Commander: > link=topic=51138.msg536048#msg536048 date=1251719835] > i guess i can host an SVN site, and a wiki meh We already have an SVN with over 600 commits on it.
  17. @MrMiguuâ„¢: > Well when it comes to re-writes, I am so-so. I usually only rewrite current features such as bank/shop/etc. for my games but in this case, I don't have much of an idea of how to setup for a DX7 to DX8 transfer. Thank you for the explanation. You would just be re-writing the current systems and implementing byte arrays. I'm doing the DirectX work.
  18. @MrMiguuâ„¢: > Lol, saying that, Mellow, stumped everyone just now. Is Eclipse 2.9 going to be just optimizations? Any new features intended to be inserted? Elaborate on the meaning of the next version… I might want to help since I am already a developer and can call any sub-routine and/or function to perform specific acts. I already have a change log of the features done in 2.8\. I know I keep changing version numbers, but I'm going to be re-releasing 2.8 as a full version of new features, fixes, and optimizations. There's an in-complete change log in the private developer forums. Is this release going to be just optimizations? No. A lot of systems are being re-written for the DirectX8 update. For example, the movement system, needs an extra column for 3 frame movement. Most ex-developers have had their SVN rights removed due to the fact that they're inactive right off the bat. It's like I get them on the team and that's all they want. @_@ However, I believe I have you on MSN, so you can just PM me for any more information. ^^,
  19. @Robin: > It's not really so much know how Eclipse works, as knowing Eclipse's source. > > I think the skill you need most whilst programming an engine like this, is problem solving. Most of the time, you'll be tracing packet trails, going through your code line by line, debugging problems which may occur… things like that. > > Apart from that, Joe and I have a very intimate knowledge of both Eclipse's source code, and Visual Basic 6\. We're not here to teach you to program, we need someone on the team who's willing to ease the weight off our shoulders and pull their own weight. What he said. A good way of knowing if you have enough knowledge is if you can recall any sub-routine or function in Eclipse for performing a specific act. I'm not here to teach people, even though I'd love to… would make things a lot easier, but I just don't have the time.
  20. How about this? ![](http://www.ahfashion.com/products_pictures/riz-lin-shad-S.jpg)
  21. @MrMiguuâ„¢: > This is my new quote of the week! Well, occasionally, we get GIAKEN to sit on Robin's face and suffocate him. It's only what GIAKEN's good for.
  22. It's why I haven't gotten any Eclipse releases out lately. I've been pounding the shit out of Robin in the bedroom.
  23. As most of you already know, I look for developers from time to time. Right now, I'm looking for developers for the Visual Basic 6 version of Eclipse Evolution. You need experience in: * Understanding how Visual Basic 6 works. * Understanding how Eclipse works. * DirectX7 (DirectX8 is a plus) * Capable of working as a **team** * Optimization techniques * Debugging code line-by-line * Sample work which is open-source
  24. @Scorpious2k: > And… > > Most of my experience has been with a 3D game (I am a developer on eqemulator.net) but as I look at the code here, I wonder *why* it only sends the move. Why not send the client X/Y for the player, let the server validate and if it rejects the move, send back the old coordinates or makes this the new position if it accepts the move. > > This would keep both in sync and remove a little of work off the server... Well, it's fixed anyways.
