  1. Well, i thought about returning to Eclipse.

And im kinda glad I did. I will definitely be taking some interest in the newer versions.

I still remember the old green/black forums from 2005, 2006 (total eclipse days)

Ill be here and there posting around. my access to use le Ban hammer is gone so you infidels are safe….. for now ;-)
  2. [![](http://i1107.photobucket.com/albums/h393/EnclaveTheRabbit/Skeleton_Sprite.jpg)](http://s1107.photobucket.com/user/EnclaveTheRabbit/media/Skeleton_Sprite.jpg.html)[![](http://i1107.photobucket.com/albums/h393/EnclaveTheRabbit/Zombie_Sprite.jpg)](http://s1107.photobucket.com/user/EnclaveTheRabbit/media/Zombie_Sprite.jpg.html)

Okay guys I know its going to need some work and I'm prepared for that. I am using Swords&Sworcery as inspiration because I really love the style. It's going to be for a private project I am currently working on and will begin to build as soon as Eclipse V comes out.

But until then! I really want to make the GFX myself and the GUI as well. I'll tell you a little bit about the game so you can understand the feel of it:

The game, in itself, is a very classic design. Simple Pixel interface and controls. Paying homage to traditional 8bit to 16bit RPGS. Yes, I plan on making the music myself as well (<3 garageband). There will be paperdoll items (I think that's what they are called) So being aware with how the sprites move is also very important.

I do very importantly need help with the walking and running cycle.

I want to give each sprite 3 attack frames (Combo etc.), 1 block frame (shield or weapon use), 1 hurt frame (damaged etc), 1 walking cycle, 1 running cycle, Breathing frames, and a sitting frame.

If you are at all interested in the project I am working on message me and ill share some tidbits with you ;-)

    Thanks friends,

    Ninja
  3. Sigh, this looks absolutely terrible. Type Choice is bad, not even centered as has already been stated.

The gradient is also just terribly placed. -_-

Why is the t in team lowercase and the H in Heos an Uppercase?

I think people often forget the significance of a logo and what it does for a company/group of people.

It defines them, it tells a story.

    This "logo" does neither.

Out of curiosity what program(s) are you using?
  4. Hey guys!

Not sure of any of my older Eclipse brother-en from the early Total Eclipse days are still active, but for those new people I am Ninja-Tech or commonly known as Ninja. I first discovered Eclipse in its very early development stage back in 2006 (7 years ago holy shit!) and ever since then I've been part of this growing community. I also can speak of the Green Forums that no one probably knows about haha.

I am also a Global Mod, but that status seems to have been stricken from my account, which is fine haha I havent been on here in quite sometime. I'll be coming on and off for awhile. I've been debating whether to start working on a game project again or just critically observing the community projects to see if they have gotten better over time haha..

    Well anyways.

It feels good to be back at home?

not with that Logo though, ick :-P

    Sincerely,

    Ninja
  5. > Looks cool, also welcome back man. What have you been up to?

Nothin just school. been having free time to where i play Starcraft 2 alot ZERG FTW but you know ive been thinking about Eclipse and wanted to get back into it a bit.

I just want everyone to understand that i am a part time college student with a part time job

and that this project will fill some of my free time and what not

i dont expect it to be finished so soon

and i also want to point out im using graphics that arent entirely mine even though i will be making some of my own graphics in the similar style

Thanks for the support you guys!

    > Looks good, sounds VERY similar to FF3

    never played it

i did play some of the original FF games to where Gems/diamonds or crystals have you held power

and i did enjoy that concept alot

    > Looks good but that logo is way to big

Prism is an Puzzle Adventure Role Playing Game or for short, it is called a PARP Game. It is a 2dimensional game set in a fantasy world with sorcery, adventure (duh) and fame. It has been in the design development stage for sometime now as i have come to find emptiness in my free time i have decided to build a world once again for the community. Prism will have a unique way to play with your friends and keep each encounter a fresh one. Your characters will grow in power and in knowledge. But be warned: Prism is not like any ordinary fantasy game it will be challenging ( i hope) and at the same time rewarding for those dedicated to solving the riddles and puzzles that populate the land. I present to you in its earliest stage: Prism.

    ![](http://i1107.photobucket.com/albums/h393/EnclaveTheRabbit/StoryBanner.png)

In the beginning the Gods beckoned an unforseen power that lingered in their astral space. Seeing that this power threatened even a God's existence they had cast it down upon the world for the mortals to deal with. As the power collided with the soil of the planet it caused a cataclysmic event that split into 7 pieces of raw Gem Power causing the land to rupture and give birth to monsters from where the gems fell. Ashamed of the death sentence they placed on the mortals the Gods fled to find a new world leaving the mortals to their doom. Years had passed as the mortals soon began to gain control over the situation. A new God discovered the world and heard its peoples cries for aid. The God answered their cries with a Prism Gem, a Gem of immense power to which consumed by a mortal would make him "God-like" and able to stop the Monsters from over populating across the world. "In order to eliminate the Monsters from this world you must destroy each Gem Producing them, but to get to this gems will be tricky and dangerous, but fear not mortal for i will guide you."

  8. So i recently discovered this program for mac and i immediatly tested it on running the original starcraft on my mac because well since the update basically prevents me from playing it i have become sort of lonely as a Zerg Ruler. ANYWAYS since it worked fine i was wondering do you think that the same thing could happen with any Eclipse program? if yes then im def gonna get back into using it. what do yall think. maybe some of you have done it before or maybe some of you can give me insight. i plan on testing it when i get home tonight.

  9. Combat System Version 1.0

    Intro:
So im designing the combat system for my game and im having some troubles developing proper realism in the system and making the players think twice before just charging into any situation.

I want to stress before i dive into this session of my Combat System Version 1.0 that everything seen here is property of my own invention and nothing here has been copied, edited, altered or transformed into what you are reading today.

If you have the need to take information or mechanics from this system please inform me before doing so and we can work out a deal.

    Setting:
Lets remember that the setting of the game is in a Post-Apocalyptic so weapons such as Guns or Clubs or Knives and survival weapons to be made with other materials that can be found through out their journey but that isn't necessarily important to know.

    Realism:
Guns fire either single bullets or multiple bullets. Each of these bullets hits the body at different points of time and therefore the damage should be dealt per X number of bullets. While these bullets may hit the armor someone wears, it is more likely that these bullets will not get through the armor (unless armor piercing modifications) like a melee weapon would. Say for example you stab someone with a knife: the armor will take half of the damage while you take the other half because in a sense the knife is in you. this rule applies to all melee weapons for simplicity.

    Mechanics:
The following below are the base mechanics needed to understand to play correctly.

    Health:
Your Health is a total of 10 and can be no higher. There will be instances where your health can be lower than 10 where in cases you can be sick or diseased and it may place a -1 to -3 modifier on your health.

    Defense:
Your defense is the focused fluctuating number of combat. Your defense total can be +20 or higher and it is what damage has to go through to get to your health. There are strict rules that apply to defense and they are the following.
o Melee weapons negate the Defense rule by dividing their total damage by 2 rounded down. the rounded down number goes straight to the health. If your damage is 10 the armor takes 5 off and 5 goes straight to the health 10 - 5 = 5 health left.

    Dodging:
In order to dodge and evade attacks you and the attacker must both roll a 1d10 and add your speed score. If the defending player rolls a higher score than the attacker then he or she successfully dodges the attack. But if the defending player rolls a lower score then he or she has been successfully hit.

    Mechanics being worked on:
    -Body life totals
    -movement
    -abilities *powers*

Now what you have been waiting for… Simulated Combat

Ben will fight Steve and the winner will fight John and then the winner will fight the boss Jackal

    Name  Health  Armor  Weapon
    Ben    10      15        .45 Pistol xd6
    Steve  10      10        .45 Pistol xd6

Ben shoots at Steve: Steve rolls a 18 and Ben rolls a 12: Miss!
Steve shoots at Ben: Ben rolls a 10 and Steve rolls a 20: Hit!
    >Steve shoots 3 bullets: 3d6 {3,2,5} total of 10 damage: Doesn't negate armor

    Name  Health  Armor  Weapon
    Ben    10      14        .45 Pistol xd6
    Steve  10      10        .45 Pistol xd6

Ben shoots at Steve: Steve rolls a 12 and Ben rolls a 10: Hit!
    >Ben shoots 4 bullets: 4d6 {3,4,6} total of 13 damage: Negates armor! Steve loses 3 life!

    Name  Health  Armor  Weapon
    Ben    10      14        .45 Pistol xd6
    Steve  7        9        .45 Pistol xd6

Steve shoots at Ben: Ben rolls a 11 and Steve rolls a 9: Miss!
Ben shoots at Steve: Steve rolls a 15 and Ben rolls a 12: Miss!
Steve shoots at Ben: Ben rolls a 10 and Steve rolls a 11: Hit!
    >Steve shoots 4 bullets: 4d6 {3,6,6,5} total of 20 damage: Negates armor! Ben loses 6 life!

    Name  Health  Armor  Weapon
    Ben    4        13        .45 Pistol xd6
    Steve  7        9        .45 Pistol xd6

Ben shoots at Steve: Steve rolls a 3 and Ben rolls a 1: Miss!
    >Steve reloads
Steve shoots at Ben: Ben rolls a 1 and Steve rolls a 20: Hit!
    >Steve shoots 3 bullets: 3d6 {6,6,5} total of 17 damage: Negates armor! Ben loses 4 life!
    Ben has been killed

I will have to finish this later but this is generally how it works. I will cover Melee weaponry and big weaponry and how armor works and EVERYTHING. stay tuned. if you need a system for your game i can design one for you.
  10. Okay guys as im going to try and learn source on my own so i can finish this project i need help understanding some ideas i want to implement.

    1st. Fast Travel

i want players to be able to fast travel from point A to point B. but only when they have discovered point B
if you havent been to point B you cannot fast travel there.
i understand that fast traveling would just be "teleport player x,y" basically
but i dont understand the limiting part and fast traveling parties
as well as during fast travel a player may encounter

    2nd. random encounter

during fast travel players may encounter enemies or traders and merchants on their way from point A to point B
now this random encounter should happen on a random map that no one but the travelers can enter or leave. and when this encounter is done and the players leave the map should be destroyed or discarded.
each map should be different for each person giving the illusion of a big world
what determines encounters you may encounter is the

    3rd. Karma Modifier

a player has a karma score -20 to +20 negative beign bad and positive being good. upon initiating fast travel the system will roll a random number between 0 and X randint(0,X,1) this equation says it will roll a random number between 0 and X, X being your Karma score and 1 for 1 number. whatever number it rolls is the ecounter you get.
    for example:
    0\. Nothing
    1\. Trader
    2\. Mercenary

say you have a karma score of +2
the system will do the following equation randint(0,2,1)
and say the system rolls a 1
you then encounter a trader and can trade with him

my worry is that multiple players doing this at times will slow the server down as it has to make new maps and discard maps and spawn npcs and remove them.

tell me if im wrong or if this is even possible and what way i should go about doing this
remember im a novice at coding.
  11. here are some roleplays i had with Omeagle Strangers.

Number 1: The Desperate Wife and the Cheating Husband
You're now chatting with a random stranger. Say hi!

You and the stranger both like roleplaying.

  12. In the beginning there were six realms: the Realm of Light, the Realm of Darkness, the Realm of Water, the Realm of Fire, and the Realm of Matter. The Sixth Realm, the Realm of Chaos, ruled over all realms. Chaos was everything, it was good and it was bad. It created war and it created peace. It spawned love and hate. The Realm Of Chaos was ruled by Zirune, a being said to bare the brightest light that would shine holy morality upon the other realms. The Realms were young, they were innocent. Everything was perfect and in harmony until the ruler of the Realm Of Light grew envious over the other Guardians, for his light would never shine brighter then that of Zirune's. In spite he corrupted the Realm's Of Light & Darkness and marched his armies across the loyal Realms until everything laid in waste. The bright light of Chaos was snuffed out, and the Guardians had destroyed themselves in war and violence. The only surviving creations from the old world were those that inhabited Zirune's proudest creation, Earth. This was well planned, for the prophets predicted in the final days of the old world that a champion would regain control of each realm and retake the realm of chaos bringing peace to the universe. We can only hope the prophets were right. For wheresoever goodness stirs, there is always Evil that will surely follow.

i rewrote it editing a little bit

  14. Scavenger
    Post-Apocalyptic Role Playing Game

_“You are a scavenger fighting for survival in a new harsh world full of toxic mutations, raiders, diseases and much more shit to cease your existence. But what can you do? Survive. Band together with friends, form gangs and claim territory. Fight for your lives while the world dies around you. ‘Toto, I've a feeling we're not in Kansas any more’: You sure as hell aint’. This is the Wasteland.”

    - Words of a wastelander_

    Objective

    >! the objective of scavenger is to survive and increase your fame by doing quests and missions. Join organizations and gangs, protect cities and towns from raiders. Explore the wasteland.
    Background

    >! During my prime as a freshman in highschool a friend of mine, before moving out of town handed down to me his completed home brew game called "Scavenger" a post- apocalyptic role playing game complete with rules, and abilities and maps. And when my friend handed it down to me i promised i would clean it up, make it digital and make sure it works. Im working on cleaning up the rules and math because trust me, he wrote this at age 13 (hes 34 now) and his math wasnt to amazing haha. Very complicated and im making everything much more simple. anyways everything below is a product of his mind and my mind as i have made some edits as this is under my property now.

    Attributes

    >! Strength: determines your carrying capacity, your melee attack bonus, and how fast you heal.
Willpower: determines your strength of mind and how successful your actions are.
I.Q.: determines your overall intelligence and conversations between NPCs
Speed: determines how fast you move.
Personality: determines how NPCs see you as and if they like you. May determine how many followers you can have (looking into it)

    Features:

    >! Targeting - each time you fire a bullet the system will roll a 1d12 or randint(1,12,1) in statistic terms to determine what part of your body it will hit. This isn't essential to the game but provides a little more realism and interesting outcomes and different damage bonus while hitting your target in the head can negate the health and armor rule ignoring the armor score.
    >! Health and Armor - health is at a base number of 10 and WILL NOT increase by any means. However, damage must first be higher than your defense score to be able to do any damage to you.
for example: say you have 10 life and defense score of 20 and you are attacked for 25dmg. 25 - 20 = 5 you then take 5 damage leaving you at 5 life. im still working out the details of how armor will work.
    >! Weight and Speed - your weight is very important because it determines how fast you can move and if you are carrying too much weight then you cannot run and your movements are hindered.
    >! Organizations - there will be multiple groups you can join which offers more quests to complete. for example you can join the raiders and attack towns and pillage and steal items.
    >! NPC vs NPC combat - watch as NPCs fight eachother to survive in a dangerous world.
    >! Quests - quests will determine how famous you are and the more famous the more quests are open to you. It also builds Karma which also determines which quests will be open to you.
    >! Travel - you must at first travel the wasteland by walking/driving to and from places. Part of the traveling from A to B is also looking around and exploring on the way to see what you might find. You are after all a scavenger and must scavenge to survive.

    Mechanics

    >! Health Points
This determines how much damage you can take before you become unconscious.
Your HP can be no higher than 10\.
When your HP is 0 you are unconscious/disabled and cannot move. Each turn from this point causes you to bleed out otherwise taking -1 damage per turn until death or until your Health points are 1 and above.
When your HP is -1 to -9 then you are dying and you need medical attention
To lose points, damage must cross your defense threshold. See Defense Threshold for more information.
    >! Second Wind
This determines how much health you can gain and how quickly you can gain it. It takes X amount of turns to achieve Y amount of health. For example if the chart says 5 – 6 then that means it takes 5 turns to achieve 6 health points. To use a Second Wind you must be completely idle and are not allowed to move for X. In this case you would not be able to move for 5 turns.

this piece of art is not mine and i do not have his permission to use it here but
i could not get his email or message him in any way to ask.
his name is Lackey and he submitted it into a contest.

If you are interested in helping i am in need of the following:

Pixel artist - your job will be to design the graphics and sprites and tiles using the 3 color palette
Coder - your job is to work with me and implement my mechanics into the source. i would assume this should be fairly simple and if possible could teach me a few things along the way
writer - you and i will write quests and descriptions

    thank you,

    sincerely
