  1. It's scriptable, but I'd like to see one of these done via the source too. It'd be less messy, as you wouldn't have to warp the player back.
  2. Well, every once in a while, you see these kinds of posts, so why not. :P I'm now officially "Teh Uberleet" since I just hit 2000 posts. "Go me" and such.
  3. So, I'm gonna throw some questions around and let's see what people have to say. Consider this situation. You're playing WoW, and you're a badass, duel-wielding warrior. You've got an awesome weapon in your main hand that you'll never get rid of. It defines who you are, basically. You've known and relied on its abilities countless times and have perfected using it. Your off-hand weapon, however, sucks. It's practically non-existant. You need to replace it. So, you go a-questing, and complete this one epic, awesome quest whose details are vague and are ready for your reward. And the quest-giver offers you one of two blades. One is almost identical to your main-hand sword. You love it, so having another would greatly increase the effect to which you play your character. Since you've mastered its effects, you already know what to do and wouldn't have to readjust for it. The other couldn't be more different. It offers a completely new array of effects and abilities than the first choice. These abilities aren't like your main-hand weapon, but adding them to your repetoir would increase your diversity. You'd have to get used to this new item, though, since its effects are so different. And then again, this could be the decision that ultimately turns you onto shields. Your friend has had a shield saved for you for a while now, but you were never really into shields. So, which would you choose, Eclipse community?
  4. I'm in a band. A buddy from middle school is starting a band, and I'm gonna be lead guitarist. Woot! First practice is Saturday. Hopefully we'll come up with a name and style of playing before too long.
  5. What. The. Hell. I copied a Myspace layout just so I could get the table names and edit from there, and here's the code I get. ``` [url]![MySpace Layouts](http://content.pimp-my-profile.com/button.gif "Myspace Layouts")[/url] [url]Contact Tables[/url] One fucking line! That is ridiculous. I'd just like to give a shout out to us, for having scripts that are simple to read. Thank you, Sadscript. You are a god. ```
  6. Look over to the left. Do you see it? Look closer. See it now? No! Of course you don't! Because I don't have an avatar to call my own. Anyway, I was wondering, since I know many of you are awesome with graphics, if I could get someone to make an avatar or siggy for me. I don't really care how it looks, as long as it says Balliztik1 or B or something to denote who I am. I'll give you major props and I'll do some coding/scripting for you, if you want. I know this isn't exactly a resource request, but it's a request and I don't know where general requests go, unless of course this would fall into the signature board. Move it if necessary.
  7. Call me crazy, but for some reason, I like MIDIs more than MP3s for Eclipse-made games. I guess it just gives more of that 2D feel that most MP3s don't offer. I believe those should be reserved for a 3D game, where you can immerse yourself more into the world. Any thoughts on this?
  8. Where the hell did he go? I was gone for several months a while back, and I haven't seen him since. I've seen that his account was deleted and such. What happened?
  9. Did anyone save a copy of my "Adding Magi as a stat requirement" tutorial before it was deleted? It would be a huge help if I could get a copy of it. If not, I'll rewrite it, but it doesn't hurt to ask.
  10. I'm wondering if there's enough people out there who like Rhapsody to try to do a fan game based on their Enchanted Lands lore. I think it could make a pretty cool game world. This isn't a recruitment thread, but I'm just curious if there are others out there who don't find this idea rediculous. We could see where it goes.
  11. This is a pretty simple game. Just say something, but use one of the old forum filter words when saying it. For example: This game is screwed up = This game is hammered up, since screw used to change to hammer in the filter.
  12. I've got a whole night ahead of me, and I don't really want to waste it away playing CSS, so I am asking a favor of you, Eclipse, that I may pay you back in return. Tell me what you want to know about scripting. I need to make as many tutorials covering as many topics as I can, so I want to know what is bothering people, what you don't get, etc. I'll hopefully be able to write up a tutorial or two tonight for those that leave a reply. And down here is where I throw in a little tidbit about my [sadscript forum](http://sadscript.freeforums.org), for those who may be interested.
  13. Do you spell it "gray", or "grey"? No idea why I want to know, but just curious to see what people say.
  14. I haven't seen a topic about this yet, so I guess I'll start it. I went to see Iron Man today, and I thought it was pretty cool, although many things in it were absolutely rediculous. The action sequences and CG scenes were done well, but it was utterly rediculous. I couldn't help but laugh at some of the poorly devised situations in the movie. Some of the effects were overexaggerated, and everything worked out too well for Tony Stark. It's one of those movies you've got to watch just for the action scenes. Everything else is rubbish.
  15. Let's try this again… I'm currently out of work since K2 no longer uses Sadscript, so I'm looking for a project to work with. I can script about anything you'll need, and edit the source, if needed. So post some details, or a link to details, about your game and I'll see what I'm interested in.
  16. > You may have heard of spam. No—it’s not the luncheon meat that comes in a can. We’re talking about Internet spam. Internet spam has several definitions. It is defined as electronic junk mail or junk newsgroup postings, or even unsolicited e-mail. This unsolicited e-mail is most likely some type of advertising or get-rich scheme, similar to the junk mail you or your family receive almost every day. With traditional junk mail, however, the people who send the mail pay a fee to distribute their materials. > Spam, in contrast, is similar to receiving a postage-due letter. Even though you don’t pay the postage as it arrives in your electronic mailbox, you are still paying for it indirectly. The charges are in the form of disk space, connect time, or even longdistance Net connections. > Spam is not illegal yet, but several groups are trying to stop it. Several states are attempting to pass laws banning the sending of unsolicited e-mail. You can limit spam in a number of ways. Several services exist to which you can submit a complaint orvreport about a spam provider. There are also many spam-blocking and filtering services, as well as services and programs that hide your e-mail address from potential spammers. Visit spam.abuse.net to learn more. Ah. Quality education…I hate this class. It's so basic. It pisses me off.
  17. I've decided to do another third-party program for the community, but I need to know how to draw squares in various colors by command in VB, then save it as a graphics file format of any kind (.bmp, .gif, etc.).
  18. Sorry if this has been clarified before (though I did use search to no avail), but I was wondering what it means when, in the info bar at the bottom of the forum, it says "X guests, Y members online (Z spiders)" What the hell are spiders? :P
  19. Is it just me, or does Trans-Siberian Orchestra rock? Especially this time of year, when you've heard just about every boring version of every Christmas song ever made, and they just twist each one into their own version.
  20. So, does anyone else have finals today/this week? I've got a chemistry and Spanish final today, and English, Pre-cal, Comp. Tech, Business, and History finals all this week. Ooo, exciting. :\
  21. Well, I occasionally make MIDIs, so I guess I'll throw some works up here as I make them. These are here merely for show-offy purposes. If you want to use any of these, please contact me and ask first. **Fugue Plane** A work-in-progress piece for a secret project. This MIDI will be assigned to the beginning area of the game, which will also be the respawn place. [Download Fugue Plane](http://www.freemmorpgmaker.com/Hosting/balliztik/Fugue_Plane.mid) **The Calm (Arrangement)** Converted from a power metal song to a peaceful melody. It's likely to be used in a town setting, possibly Greek in origin, if I can work it into the storyline. (I didn't write this. I simply arranged the instruments and tempo in what I believe to be a better way than the original song.) [Download The Calm](http://www.freemmorpgmaker.com/Hosting/balliztik/The_Calm.mid) **Dungeon Crawl** Two separate MIDIs of the same tune. The first is strictly piano. It's slightly faster than the second, which uses a lot of reverbing and echoing instruments. They were both intended for a dungeon setting, however. [Download Dungeon Crawl (Pianos)](http://www.freemmorpgmaker.com/Hosting/balliztik/pianos.mid) [Download Dungeon Crawl (Synth)](http://www.freemmorpgmaker.com/Hosting/balliztik/Dungeons_and_Synth_Pads.mid) **Forest Ruins** I made this back in my _Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles_ days. I loved the xylophones from the Rebena te Ra music, so I made a semi-tribute piece to my addiction. [Download Forest Ruins](http://www.freemmorpgmaker.com/Hosting/balliztik/Forest_Ruins.mid) **City in the Sand** Like many of my works, this originated from a random guitar jam. I threw on some different instruments, added a couple neat percussive effects, and here it is. Obviously, it's a desert song. [Download City in the Sand](http://www.freemmorpgmaker.com/Hosting/balliztik/City_in_the_Sand.mid) **Rainy Day** This was once the title music for an old game. A random series of notes turned out to be a catchy rhythm, so I stuck with it and synthesized it a bit. [Download Rainy Day](http://www.freemmorpgmaker.com/Hosting/balliztik/Rainy_Day.mid) **The Day the Sun Disappeared** At one time, I was making a piece of music called "Eclipse", as a tribute to you-know-what community. This was one of the parts in the piece, and the only one I actually did. It's very short, but I liked it. [Download The Day the Sun Disappeared](http://www.freemmorpgmaker.com/Hosting/balliztik/The_Day_The_Sun_Disappeared.mid) **Epic** This is easily one of my favorite pieces I've written. It ends too suddenly, though, so I'll be doing work on it later. [Download Epic](http://www.freemmorpgmaker.com/Hosting/balliztik/Epic.mid) **Desert Dance** This was very fun to make. It started out as a simple jam, and it turned into a nice tune that you hear here, and expanded into a new scale opportunity that occasionally arises in my songs. [Download Desert Dance](http://www.freemmorpgmaker.com/Hosting/balliztik/Desert_Dance.mid) **Death's Toll** This is a tribute to my first MMORPG attempt back in April when I first started using Eclipse. Me and a buddy named Charlie worked on it for a while, and it was the most mediocre-ably awesome game ever. Here's to ye. (Bleh, this is the messed up version. I'll try to get a better version up eventually.) [Download Death's Toll](http://www.freemmorpgmaker.com/Hosting/balliztik/Death's_Toll.mid) **Machete** Why is this piece named after a blade used to cut dense jungle foliage? I have no idea. Enjoy. [Download Machete](http://www.freemmorpgmaker.com/Hosting/balliztik/Machete.mid) **Something's Amiss** Something's definately amiss. Those harmonized marimbas tell it all. [Download Something's Amiss](http://www.freemmorpgmaker.com/Hosting/balliztik/Something's_Amiss.mid) **The Dark Dream** As opposed to other types of dreams one may have, this one is dark and features some stringed instruments playing chords. [Download The Dark Dream](http://www.freemmorpgmaker.com/Hosting/balliztik/The_Dark_Dream.mid) **In the Shadow of the Pyramids** After returning to Runescape (:O Blasphemy), I was inspired to write this. This is one of my most complete sounding pieces, in my opinion. [Download In the Shadow of the Pyramids](http://www.freemmorpgmaker.com/Hosting/balliztik/In_the_Shadow_of_the_Pyramids.mid)
  22. OMG! Check this out! http://www.dhmo.org What are we to do? :O
  23. This isn't really a job, so to speak, but I will be accepting individual requests, and I didn't know where else to put it. Anyway, I'm bored. I need something to do, and want to get back into making music. Anyone who wants a custom MIDI done, I'll gladly oblige. Just give me a description of what you want done, and possible a description/screenshot of the area for which the MIDI is being made. Here's an example of some of my music, but none of the more recent ones, regrettably. http://www.freewebs.com/balliztik1/Music.zip I can also make MIDI versions of pretty much any song, or alter those songs. I don't have an example of this yet, but I'll post it soon.
  24. Well, some of the older members who eagerly wanted this script back when I was writing it may remember this. I said I was going to release it, but my computer was fried during a storm while I was asleep, and I thought I had lost the script. Today, I was checking my old Yahoo mail account, and I had a WIP game server from over a year ago in there. My CTF script was in the main.txt, along with some of my first scripts. Woot! So, it's been well over a year, but I've finally got it back and I'm going to rewrite it a bit. Expect to see it soon. I think I have the installation post that I was writing saved somewhere.
  25. Alright, I decided to do a little work with a click-to-move system. I haven't perfected it, as it requires quite a bit of editing to get it to do exactly what I wanted, but it does allow a player to move in the direction that you click. It's easy to add. Find _sub picUber_MouseDown_ in _frmMirage_. Add this to the bottom of it: ``` x = x \ 32 y = y \ 32 px = Player(MyIndex).x py = Player(MyIndex).y If px = x Then If py = y Then Exit Sub End If d = 0 If py < y Then d = d + 1 End If Else m = (py - y) / (px - x) If Abs(m) >= 1 Then d = 0 Else d = 2 End If If d = 2 And px < x Or d = 0 And py < y Then d = d + 1 End If End If Select Case d Case 0 DirUp = True DirDown = False DirLeft = False DirRight = False Case 1 DirUp = False DirDown = True DirLeft = False DirRight = False Case 2 DirUp = False DirDown = False DirLeft = True DirRight = False Case 3 DirUp = False DirDown = False DirLeft = False DirRight = True End Select Call CheckMovement ``` Now, you'll just have to add a couple _Exit Sub_s. Change these two chunks of code: ``` If (Button = 1 Or Button = 2) And InEditor = True Then 'Call AddText("Clicked xcalc" & (x + xcalc) & " ycalc" & (y + ycalc), BrightRed) Call EditorMouseDown(Button, Shift, Int((x + (xcalc))), Int((y + (ycalc)))) End If If (Button = 1 Or Button = 2) And InHouseEditor = True Then 'Call AddText("Clicked xcalc" & (x + xcalc) & " ycalc" & (y + ycalc), BrightRed) Call HouseEditorMouseDown(Button, Shift, Int((x + (xcalc))), Int((y + (ycalc)))) 'Call HouseEditorMouseDown(Button, Shift, (x + (NewPlayerX * PIC_X)), ycalc) End If ``` to: ``` If (Button = 1 Or Button = 2) And InEditor = True Then 'Call AddText("Clicked xcalc" & (x + xcalc) & " ycalc" & (y + ycalc), BrightRed) Call EditorMouseDown(Button, Shift, Int((x + (xcalc))), Int((y + (ycalc)))) Exit Sub End If If (Button = 1 Or Button = 2) And InHouseEditor = True Then 'Call AddText("Clicked xcalc" & (x + xcalc) & " ycalc" & (y + ycalc), BrightRed) Call HouseEditorMouseDown(Button, Shift, Int((x + (xcalc))), Int((y + (ycalc)))) 'Call HouseEditorMouseDown(Button, Shift, (x + (NewPlayerX * PIC_X)), ycalc) Exit Sub End If ``` Note: The code may be different depending on which version you use. This is straight from the EE1 source. Finally, just add the dims to the top of the sub (Thanks to ollievar for catching this): ``` Dim px Dim py Dim d Dim m ``` And that's it. I hope that I'll be able to add where you can move to a set destination with one click soon. Until then, enjoy.
