    Lol xD

Something tells me you're new to the 2D MMO scene. All the pixel art is drawn out by hand. Then again, given that 99% of Mirage-based games aren't fully custom, I suppose that's a merited response. Elandor Chronicles isn't going to skimp out though. We have 100% custom everything - graphics, music, storyline, setting, engine. If we're going to make a game, we're going to do it right.

Good to have a fan of our graphics though. If you fancy a gander at Beau's amazing work, check out the http://www.touchofdeathforums.com/smf/index.php?board=459.0 board, particularly the preview threads. I think you'll be equally amazed.
  2. SMBO got the same letter, minus the "Legend of Zelda" reference. They just copy and paste that shit. Nintendo didn't give SMBO permission. They explicitly stated that they never give permission to fan games.

    > jk, don't fire me  :P

I was about to comment that you're not allowed to be in on that joke, but then I realized that you ARE working for Beau. xD I saw your concept art. Was quite impressive. Enjoy being fired, sir. It's our way of welcoming you.

    ;)

As for WoH being done for, I hate to hear it, but with the breaks in WoH's development that kept occurring and working on two projects at once, at least this gives Beau a bit of refocus. Instead of worrying about progress for two games, he can relax a bit and just have to worry about keeping us delinquents in line.

    ;D
  4. Yeah, going as far back in the source as possible is never a good idea. Kind of like if you need a new roof, you wouldn't start pulling bricks from the foundation. The equipment enumeration handles a lot more than just paperdoll. To actually change the paperdoll blitting order, you'll have to edit the paperdolling subs.
  5. Edited files or not, if you don't have VB6, this isn't going to be compilable. Plus, since this is a third party edit, and a new Origins release is potentially coming out soon, compiling these edits into new executables would only benefit people for a couple days. Then, they'd be left with non-transferable items for the new version.
  6. Remember, even with high values, you'd be limited to the amount of map NPCs, item drops, etc.

But yes, changing to integer or long would expand the size limits.

    > could you help me then…..

We are trying to help you. This isn't done. We can't just give you the code to do it because it's not created yet. It will eventually be done, just stop making topics about it. Instead, you can keep an eye out for downloads that feature a system like this.

    > This makes my soul sparkle in a way that I haven't felt since I first read the first lotr book some years ago. Great work Bailie. I hope that after reading things like that I can write something half as good for a sample.

Thanks, Azure. There's plenty more to be written in this fashion, so if you liked it, watch for future threads continuing the story. :)
  9. Well, a knowledge of some coding is required to use my system, so there's not much I can do there, as I'd have to create each conversation file for you. You can always post on the source question board.

As for quests, you can also find some quest scripts in the database. Most are just simple copy/paste, so you should be able to get those just fine.

And no, not that topic. That's plans for a future edit. If you can't get this done/ripped for you, you might just wait until that system is completed.
  10. I don't know about practical limitations, but an array is limited to 2,147,483,647 elements. I'd say you'd be able to resize it to whatever you need it to be. Your computer will crash before you even get close to overshooting the boundary.

As for that code, you'd not only change that, but wherever else the map size is handled. I'm sure there's several other places where the map size is limited, namely in the map's type structure in modTypes.
  11. Does anyone play Battle for Wesnoth? Beau recently showed me this game, and I absolutely love it.

Not only is it a sound turn-based strategy game, but it also provides an editor that people have used to make tactical RPG style adventures, where you lead a small band of heroes on a dungeon trek. On top of that, everything is wonderfully done. The graphics are all very nicely done. The particle effects used for some spells are wonderfully animated. My favourite part by far, though, is the music. I'm unsure if they are original compositions or not, but their collection of game tracks really sets the mood, and has quickly made its impression.

If you haven't played it, give it a try. There's tons of mods for it, all downloadable from within the game client, so there's endless opportunities. It allows multiplayer on a single computer, LAN play, direct connection play, or matchmaking on their official server, so whether you like single player, team play, or head-to-head matches, there's probably a niche in Wesnoth for you.

    Humans are a virus…

I'd have to say I don't really have a favourite meat. It depends on how it's served. Also, I've not really tried anything out of the ordinary.
