  1. Awesome, would be cool if you added more professions to get into later on so people can do things other than farm (Mine, Smith(Upgrading Tools), Fishing, etc)

But you already have your hands full with the fundamentals so just keep that in mind. :D
  2. Quite nice, a lot of attention to detail but not too much stuff.

I just don't like whats going on with the roof of the buildings, and the square paths and other areas could use some transitioning.

    Find a better tileset, perhaps.
  3. @ IceCream Tuesday, Yeah, I see what you mean, I guess I need a lot of practice, I'm not used to AA'ing things.

It's too bad you don't like the older style, to his their own I suppose.

@Bob Smith, Glad you like them :D
  4. I forget what, but I think I used the magic wand tool to grab the bigger chunks of the background and cleaned the rest up with a brush and removed any clashing light pixels with the pen tool.

There were 2 reasons for the thick stroke, 1 for making a clean transition with most any background sense its interlaced to be translucent with any background.

2 would be so it neatly comes together with the actual signature part that juts out, sort of like a sticker would be, one smooth "object" if you will.
  5. I see what you mean, I was for the most part intentionally make the stroke thick to connect with the black box better, like a single entity, but maybe thinner would've been better.

    @[G2D] The rest would be:

  6. Their images I found, edits in Photoshop on a lot of it, changing colors, backgrounds, cleaning up most of it to make it a proper render etc.
  7. Thoughts on my Avatar and Signature? If anyone here plays FFTA2 (or any FFT most likely) you should at least be able to recognize some of it.

I made it when I realized that my Photoshop could interlace (it took me 2 years to notice.. durr) and wanted to break out of the usual rectangle signatures.

I'm not 100% used to Photoshop and I'm no good at making interesting sigs with brushes and whatnot, so these are the kind of things that usually pop out of my head.

The ava and sig in question, and if it needs to be part of my post too:

  8. Just some stuff I've done over the past year, their finished but your welcome to critic (even harsh, I'm used to it!) so I can better my skills for future work.

I've never been able to do any superior work with Pixel art despite all my years of work, but I believe I'm getting better, so I hope you don't find these repulsing. D: (I'm my own worst critic..)

    AA (by hand) practice:

I wanted to detail this to make it a full sword, but I got intimidated by my own line-art and decided to practice my anti-aliasing skills on it. >_>

    Next, some items:

First is my Arch Angels sword and the second one would be my Gluttons Falchion (It has a mouth and long tongue if you can't tell at first..)

Next, compilation of stuff, tiles, items, sprites, paper-doll:

I'm pretty happy with everything I did here, was aiming for SNES style, because, well, I <3 SNES era big time.

The items look kind of cruddy on the black background, I don't know what I was thinking, but I ASSURE you they look really nice against tiles, sense the lines were shaded to be on them, not a plain black background..

Anyway.. I didn't put them up as ![]([/img'] because I wasn't sure how some of them would look against the black background.

Let me hear your thoughts! (Sorry for the wall of text.. It's my bad habbit, oh look, I can't stop!))
  9. It's pretty good, but I think it suffers a bit from lack of contrast. (and anatomical errors if you want to get picky.. but that stuffs hard to learn)

There's a lot of tutorials on the net that would probably help you with shading this so its a bit more shapely and robust. :D
  10. I believe their tiles from the same game, I've seen a lot of Silverdales tiles in the tilesets I have (750 tilesets rar I found digging in the resource section)

    Me as well, <3 SNES.
  11. Thanks guys.

@[G2D], I know what you mean, my internet is okay-speed and it even loads slow sometimes, I can't imagine what its like for anyone with worse internet..

But this is kind of my project, I'll see about making a spliced up version where you can view it in segments instead of all at once, hopefully that will ease some peoples connections.
  12. Thank you for the input, I've corrected everything you mentioned (I believe)

I've updated the first post, sorry it took me a few days, I've been changing a few things around, mapping and editing certain tiles so it took me longer this time.

The map now includes the beginning area (very top) and the first town, which I don't have a name for yet. I've recruited some mapping help from a friend of mine so the map is sure to expand much more rapidly now.

Thanks for all the help and I hope to see more posts from everyone with their opinions and critic. :D
  13. @DD, Thanks :D, I've replaced the sprite recently because I did a poor job on resizing it, the new ones work much better but kind of lose some of the character :/ ah well.

@Bone, Yeah, I've tried to address the crowding issue in my update -

@Everyone, I've already updated the first post but if your lazy (like me) I've included it in this post:
    –----------------------------------------------------------
I've tried to use as much input as I could from you guys and cleaned up each map and made the shrubbery and flowers less sporadic and tried to group them together a little more organized-like.

I also tried to make the caves a little more interesting, no one mentioned anything but I found them kind of plain myself.

    New map, plus more maps:

Here's one explaining the cave entrance/exit routes, so you can see whats going on better:

(in the order you encounter them in-game)
    A-B: Simple cave entry/exit
    A-B: Simple cave entry/exit
A-B: You fall into the hole and land in the center of the cave, you can't get back up.
A-B: This is where you exit, which leads behind the tree, it's meant to be a hidden cave, but easily found by falling through the hole.
FRINGED: This is just pointing out that those parts of the cave are fringed and passable, I figured they were an easy way to make caves more interesting.

As always, looking forward to opinions/critic, thanks!
  14. Thanks!

Yeah, a lot of the tiles are reminiscent of Playerworlds (mainly the tree, dirt, rock and grass) and I always liked them, so I'm trying to put together a more complete version of the tileset.
  15. Thank you for the replies :D

@Hippoman, I'll look into the crowding, because I also felt this, but I needed some outside opinion because I critic myself so hard that I don't know anymore.

As for the symmetrical problem, I'm not sure what you mean.

@Lena, Orange? Do you mean the cliffs? Hmm.
  16. Last updated: Monday, June 01, 2009

Hello everyone, I've updated this first post to make it a bit shorter.

Here is the current compilation, It took me a little while with mapping them and personally adjusting certain tiles to make everything work well together (WARNING: Image is pretty massive now) :

This one has each map numbered so you can point out where errors are or if you want to compliment any one map, just to make things easier as the map expands:

I'll be leaving the older image below intact so you can understand the cave routes, just remember that below is an older image.

Here's one explaining the cave entrance/exit routes, so you can see whats going on better:

  17. Sorry about posting in this thread, but I felt it necessary to point out a few things -

A lot of the time Private Servers DO show up like Trojans, because they act in a similar way, but they are in NO way harmful.

However, if that's the case with him, I don't know, I don't really trust him just because hes quite shady. (no offense if your legit OP)
  18. Is there a way so I can set monsters to drop more than one type of item? (IE; multiple drops in a single drop table, Gold, Weapon, Quest Item off of a single NPC at different drop rates and amounts, things like that)

I tried looking for a script but couldn't find any, I looked through most of the .ini's and the forum search function isn't working right for me so I couldn't look much further than that.

So I decided to ask here, thanks in advance.
  19. I wish you were able to select a group of tiles ( Like in RPG Makers ) Becuase I have afew big things in my tileset and its time consumeing to select tile by tile.
  20. Project I am working on. Just looking for some input on them, I only have one at the moment but I will make a few more later

Random village: Made this in a few mins, so it probably is pretty bad. Please tell me what you think of the actual graphics.
    ![](http://img130.imageshack.us/img130/5945/1ink0yl.png)

These are all my graphics and you can pretty much guess what their imitateing. This is still in early development though.. But check out the website and forums for more info, we don't really have much of a community at the moment but I hope that changes. ^_^
