  1. The Issue Some people say Majilova's policy on free speech has gone too far. The Debate "These days, anyone says whatever they want with no regard to what kind of dribble is coming out of their mouths!" says angry commuter Clint Christmas. "It's gone too far. We should go back to the good old days, when if someone started talking garbage, we'd smack them one." "We need more free speech, not less," argues civil rights campaigner Melbourne Trax. "Free speech allows ideas to be explored, challenged, and discussed in a productive, open forum. It teaches our kids to be critical thinkers. And dirty words, of course, but that's just the price you pay." "The right to free speech is a central tenet of our system of democracy," says religious leader Colin Shiomi. "But surely the right to not have your religious beliefs mocked by others is worth something, too? We mustn't put up with intolerance!" Uhhhhhh… #1?
  2. Acording to today's stats, Homo Gay People are some of the dumbest people in Eclipse? And trolls are the smartest? (Closely followed by me of course ;D)
  3. Although I am happy I got first, I also have no clue why :P Renzo is probably right about hidden factors and such…
  4. The Armed Republic of Majilova is a tiny, environmentally stunning nation, renowned for its strong anti-business politics. Its compassionate, intelligent population of 16 million love a good election, and the government gives them plenty of them. Universities tend to be full of students debating the merits of various civil and political rights, while businesses are tightly regulated and the wealthy viewed with suspicion. It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, socially-minded government stops and the rest of society begins, but it is mainly concerned with Law & Order, although Education and the Environment are secondary priorities. The average income tax rate is 57%, and even higher for the wealthy. The private sector is almost wholly made up of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, although the government is looking at stamping this out. Military funding has been stripped back, all industry is owned and run by the government, euthanasia is legal, and murder rates are on the rise as the popularity of soylent products grows. Crime is relatively low, thanks to the all-pervasive police force. Majilova's national animal is the Duck, which is also the nation's favorite main course, and its currency is the Duck. Majilova is ranked 1st in Eclipse and 28,368th in the world for Longest Average Lifespans. Yay! I got my first badge :D
  5. Yes it was, and it's a very good tutorial too :)
  6. ^^ my thoughts exactly!
  7. The gay option was actually pretty random, but it was better than the other two, and I don't like dismissing issues :/
  8. Apparently I have high divorce rates… "Last night the respected tabloid TV show "60 Minutes" ran a report on Majilova's rising divorce rate. What is happening to the nuclear family? There's a simple solution," says Pastor Felix, of the Catholic Church. "Divorce should be illegal. 'For better or worse,' anyone remember how that goes? We should return to the good old days, when you got married for life and stuck by your partner no matter how much of a drunken, abusive, adulterating disappointment they turned out to be." John Black, author of the hit book, 'Men are from Mars, Women are from Some Whole Other Place,' has a simpler solution. "If couples would just call each other 'darling' once in a while, there would be far fewer relationship breakdowns. A little affection is all it takes. So the government should make it mandatory: call your spouse 'darling' at least once a day, or face a fine." "There's a simple way to boost the marriage rate," says gay rights activist Max Wall. "Abolish those arcane laws that discriminate against same-sex marriages. It's obscene to treat people differently because of their sexual preference. Besides, everyone knows gay relationships are more stable than straight ones." I like the gay option... But forcing people from escaping drunken, abusive relationships is always cool too....
  9. I logged onto to see this is my issues: Cannibals Demand To Taste What Majilova Has To Offer Yay. Oh, and 1% of my population dies from suicide whilst in police custody.
  10. Hey guys, so for my game we're starting the mount system so I need some horse and riders. I need a girl and boy rider but you cannot be able to see either riders hair color (I am planning on having them as a sprite change when you choose to ride the mount but I don't want you to be able to distinguish between a green haired rider and a pink haired rider.) I'd also like the riders to be wearing helmets (so you can't see there hair) and a brown uniform (dress probably for the girl). If possible make 4 different horse colors, chestnut, grey, black and white. Hopefully I was specific enough xD Thanks in advance guys!
  11. It's a weird game, not much ever makes sense… Oh euthanasia is legal in my country btw.
  12. Today's ranking system: The Nudest in Eclipse The following nations have the most liberal attitudes to public nudity. As a region, Eclipse is ranked 2,417th in the world for Nudest. Needless to say I'm near the bottom. Big business, fed up with over-regulation in Majilova, are heading offshore in ever-increasing numbers. The Debate "Good riddance!" says noted environmentalist Dave Rubin. "Sniff that air! It's never been so clean! At last, our society is freeing itself from the consumer death-trap! I say it's time to take the final step and outlaw capitalism once and for all!" "This is a catastrophe waiting to happen," says the Chamber of Commerce. "Think of the consequences! Without big business, where do the jobs come from? Where do we get our medicine? Our cars? Our latest fashions? There are dozens of useless regulations the government could abolish today to make life easier for commerce, and it's high time they did." Number 1 it is. Screw Walmart.
  13. Maybe its a good thing I "thought of the children!" and decided not to let my people be nudists… Oh well, their currency is also a delicacy, so they're screwed anyway.
  14. @Anna yeah I noticed that too, maybe they're part of the 7% of my population that dies from murder? "NO MORE BOMBS," chant the protestors outside Parliament House, in a repetitious and increasingly annoying appeal. Spokesperson Anne-Marie Wall, speaking through a feedback-afflicted microphone, says, "Majilova needs fewer weapons, not more! Make the world a safer place! Disarm now!" So yeah… Please don't hurt me? Edit Who has "The Republic of DioAsran" Cause you have a ton of different ways to die. And sunburns, srsly?
  15. Ok, well, I did that and it didn't work so, -,-
  16. Cheap, foreign-made cars are becoming increasingly popular, causing concern in Majilova's automobile manufacturing industry. The Debate "Unless this government does something, Majilova won't have an auto industry for much longer," says auto industry union boss Violet Li, in a rare public appearance alongside management. "These foreign companies employ people for a few Ducks a day. The only way to level the playing field is to raise tariffs. The government would make more money, too, so it's win-win." "For once, I agree with my grubby colleague here," says General Chassis CEO Calvin Mistletoe. "Although I have to say, tariffs aren't the only answer. A more effective solution would be to abolish minimum wage laws. Now that would level the playing field. And we'd be able to employ more–argh, let go of my throat!" "I think we need to face facts," says noted economist and chat-show regular Miranda Wall. "We live in a global economy now, and automobile manufacturing just isn't Majilova's strong suit. There's no point taking money from taxpayers in order to line the pockets of a few greedy workers and corrupt managers in a doomed industry. Let the market takes its--argh, let go of my throat!" Hmmm, the second one sounds pretty good... But for the sake of MY PEOPLE I'll go with the first.
  17. Old Age: 85% Murder: 7% Lost in the Wilderness: 7% Acts of God: 2% Funny, I was sure I had capital punishment this morning as 7% too….
  18. That is because I used that as a tutorial but made distinct changes. ;)
  19. I will try to see if I can get the carved wood appearance and the OP is fixed now, it wasn't supposed to show the same screen twice Dx
  20. This is menu GUI I'm hoping to use for my new (WIP) game Secrets of Majilova. (Thread: http://www.touchofdeathforums.com/smf/index.php/topic,73962.msg794678.html#new) You can see some old GUIs I attempted to make here: http://www.touchofdeathforums.com/smf/index.php/topic,73603.0.html Menu GUI >! 21. Search it. http://www.touchofdeathforums.com/smf/index.php/topic,70436.0.html Took less than 30 seconds.
  22. So, my question is, when you bring up the client what codes would I have to add/subtract to get the login screen appear first. The way my menu works is the news is always up but in the corner, so I need something else (login screen) to appear where most peoples news appears. Thanks in advanced guys :)
  23. My country now has the death penalty, my political freedoms are high now -.-
  24. I think might have missed the part in Harry Potter where he summoned demons… "I quite enjoyed the book, until I got to the part where Harry summons evil demons to do his bidding," says religious leader Konrad Jefferson. "Now that's just wrong. We need to restore some sense to this debate, by which I mean we should remove this book from the shelves, salt it thoroughly, and burn it." So yeah, HP ain't banned in ma country ;)
