  1. I love the aspect you have taken. It is at least a Ninja-esque game with a more original approach than a Naruto basis. I do agree with the graphics though. They need some work regardless of how they fit in with your current tileset. The colours used are minimal and the overall design quite bland, although, this is not meant as bad criticism, I am using this as a way of helping you see ways of improvement.

Anyway, if you say that the images look better ingame, please post some screenshots. It would allow for better criticism and advice. :D
  2. Hello Marick. Thanks for the posts, although, could you be sure not to post consecutively. The Edit button would allow you to add any further details to a post.

I'm not sure on what Roftl's position is regarding a blog, community, website etc, but I'm sure he will want to consider your offering.

I'm also part of the team, although Roftl owns the idea so I cannot give the go ahead for any particular aspect. Just watch this space my friend, I'm sure he'll notice when he next logs on. :D
  3. Ooooh, pretty house in the second one though. I also think the Bush/Tree inundation is a little OTT, but I really like the house, just get rid of that grey shadow thing at the back…...
  4. spytime, juvanio has a point with the way you presented the idea. Of course, a proper story will always pull a person into the plot and will leave with continued interest in the progression of the game, but laying it out correctly and tidily also offers a certain amount of pull. The Sprite Work you have done has me quite excited, but with only a bog standard plot and a very untidy presentation, it is hard to want to come back
  5. Thanks, I will definitely get to work on those arms and torso…..I am assuming that generally unbroadening the shoulders may help with the generality. It may also help with my consistently nagging mind telling me that my base has fat thighs :)

Thank You again for the advice, I should have something for tomorrow.
  6. Well, Aside from the odd comments I have given to other peoples works regarding potential improvements, I have never actually posted anything on these forums myself for criticism.

Before I post my item of peripheral interest within this topic, I would like to make a couple of things clear. I come under a very well known category of pixel artist: **Amateur**. My skills are quite low in comparison to many people who frequent these forums, and the reason for my posting is to attempt to improve my skills in this particular area.

Just some points about parts I already know about:

**1)** Yes I know it currently doesn't have any ears. I am still working on a style to fit the shape, nothing appears to be working at the moment.

**2)** Weird Eyes? Scary Eyes? I know. I have always been a fan of the Bug Eyed Manga/Anime Styles. It may be a little creepy, but I find it simultaneously fascinating. Reminds me of that bloke who could pop his eyes out on Britains Got Talent.

Otherwise, any improvements you can think of to make, or even references you would recommend to help me improve would be excitedly welcomed. Otherwise, general criticisms will be taken into consideration.
  7. I agree, the walking animation is very good. Just that touch of a trouser leg at the back or front makes a lot of difference when recognising movement.

A small quibble, however. I am assuming the plantation you have placed around the buildings are bushes…..but that is only an assumption. If I am wrong and they are in actual fact trees, may I suggest expanding their size so they are proportiante in comparison to the size of various other objects, including the character.
  8. I'll leave a comment, but I am not overly Program or Code Savvy.

From what's been said, it will not only be a case that you will improve in the general idea of coding and programming, but your organizational and prioritous skills will also improve as you continue.

You will know where, when and how to add a certain code to a speciic area for certain actions or effect.

Sorry if the post sounds amateurish…..just accept it as praise otherwise
  9. I love fantasy names, personally. You do need to really think about it though. In Robin's case, it sounds like a European Lover (Yes, I added the European part myself); to me, it sounds like a fresh cream & meringue dessert.

You do not have to necessarily use everyday words to promote a games title, just consider how it rolls off of the tongue. If need be, find a place between the two, and combine sections of different words to come up with a name.

    Hope that helps :D
  10. @TianaJRP:

    > or Kusy, get out of that dirty mud before it become hard and you turn into a rock (or a troll :P )

    Or even a Rock Troll!

Anyway, is there a colour paler than white…..I haven't seen the sun in a while
  11. I've always enjoyed a good "Birds-Eye-View" game ever since playing some awesome creations at arcades in holiday camps around the UK. This was when I was, like, Ten years old though, so we're looking atleast 16 years ago.

The graphics of it also look very good. the simpler a screenshot is to understand, the bigger the thumbs up from me (and I have some big thumbs :D).

Judging by your choice of style, however, I would assume that the level of character customization you will implicate will be minimal.
  12. OK, now we are away from the thievery point; I don't know anybody who doesn't atleast take references from another creator's sets; the idea itself is looking good.

I absolutely love the unorthodox appearance, regardless of the source of the tiles, and the new character base also looks good. Just consider adding a section to your WIP listing any names you feel require given credit if, of course, any tiles were used from existing sources.

Good luck to you either way.
